*responsible for correctly coding inpatient healthcare claims to obtain optimum reimbursement from insurance companiesreview the information documented by doctors and other healthcare professionals to assign codes for the diagnosis and services rendered.Follow International guidelines of coding approved by the regulatorAdd the assigned codes to a patient's electronic health records (EHRs)Comply with all regulatory requirements regarding coding procedures and practicesContact physicians and other health care professionals with questions about treatments or diagnostic tests given to patients about coding procedures when required to avoid misinterpretation of dataPerform data entry function of other demographic and visit specific information to facility coding database as requiredConduct audits and coding reviews to ensure all documentation is accurate and preciseSupport the outpatient coding team when requiredCollaborate with biller to ensure all bills are satisfied in a timely mannerMonitor the coded claims to make sure that medical bills going to Insurance companies are covered, and that amount of any copay a patient might owe are delivered.Support the team to communicate with insurance companies about coding errors and disputesAssist in submitting statistical data for analysis and research by other departmentsWork with doctors, nurses and other team members and information techs to create medical records.Support and participate in External Coding Audits when requiredDeal with Insurance billing when assignedSupporting colleagues in subject regarding card eligibility, co-payments / deductibles, coverage of benefits, and other requirements.Manage pre-authorization task and ensuring coverage of claimsMaintains strict confidentiality related to medical records and other data.Maintain and improve coding skills as well as stay current with coding updates and changesTo coordinate and co-operate with colleagues of the same department and other related departments for smooth running of Insurance operations.
