POSITION SNAPSHOTLocation: UAE Company: Nestl POSITION SUMMARYNestl is looking for a Market Nutritionist - NHW to drive the translation and deployment of nutrition science and knowledge to guide product innovation & renovation, and consumer relevant communication. You will be responsible to apply findings of research, dietary guidelines, relevant population trends, nutritional needs & wants into innovations of nutrition products & digital initiatives drive continuous improvement of Nestl products by applying product nutrient profiles and quality criteria in context of population diet, guide products nutrition and health benefits, credible brand communications and stories.   • Act as Nutrition Business partner (co-pilot) for guiding product category(-ies) I&R and brand nutrition communication by translating nutrition science and target population nutritional needs.
  • Inspire nutrition, dietary & dietetics dimensions into business category strategy. Interpret/evaluate available knowledge and nutrition science to guide business partners and product developers.
  • Provide credible & timely technical assistance, nutrition guidance for business / product category under responsibility. Ensure knowledge transfer of NHW solutions to market Application Group.
  • Identify nutrition gaps & opportunities for portfolio evolution & growth. Understands and articulates the nutrition reality to drive the identification of nutritional needs and gaps in portfolio. Collation of nutrition science, nutrition landscaping, knowledge on key insights from consumer data, competitive analysis, and global and local trends, translate relevant nutrition knowledge into competitive and feasible product concepts and solutions.
  • Provide nutrition dimension in the new market driven product development at early stage and with continuous inputs along the E2E process. Identify targeted population nutritional needs, insights, and opportunities. Responsible to guide product nutritional foundation and the +, ensuring product nutritional criteria in compliance with external /market regulations and internal guidelines & standards.
  • Define desired nutritional profile for target population. Consideration of product as part of a diet, define product s nutritional composition, its nutrition value & measures (criteria, thresholds, scores), lead nutritional assessment to achieve nutritional superiority. Validate final products nutritional criteria & composition.
  • Guide products NHW messaging and claims on the label and beyond. Guide on translation of science into Consumer Communication and product labelling, validate relevant easy-to-understand nutrition communication messages for all appropriate touch points: on pack, digital, POS, etc. Master nutrition dimension inputs into product label text development process. Responsible for nutrition table information & guide front and back of pack (FoPL, Nestl Back Story), nutrition and health claims /messaging, GDA, Portion Guidance etc. for product category(-ies).
  • Provide substantiation behind nutrition or health claims development.Deploy NHW claims positively evaluated by scientific authorities and /or by Nestl Health Claim Panel in line with business and brand strategy, guide claims within I/R process. Develop scientific substantiation for market driven nutrition & health claims: e.g. write a scientific rationale document for health claims to be evaluated by SBU & Nestl Health Claims Panel.
  • Responsible for market products/portfolio NHW KPIs deliverables
  • External KOL/ authorities engagement. May represent the organization at different nutrition forums and convenings, including food industry/technical working groups. Content provider and/or a spoke-person for nutritional advocacy topics externally for categories of responsibility. Acts as a key nutrition advisor at any level and understand the areas of opportunities of positive impact and risks within the external nutrition environment, the Food Industry and Public Health environment
What will make you successful
  • University Degree in Nutrition/Dietetics, Life science, Food science and technology with nutrition specialization (Masters or PhD would be an added advantage)
  • 1 - 3 years of work experience in academia, industry and/or public health nutrition organizations.
  • Works with on need based general supervision and guidance.
  • Demonstrate solid mastership of standards, and practices as defined for the function, and in the scope of the role / specialty and can train others on nutrition.
  • Provide evidence on ability to complete complex tasks.
  • May influence & guide others within the job area through explanation of facts, policies, and practices.
