Job Description

Agri-Tech Chief Engineer/Engineering DirectorAbout the job:My client is an innovative startup that provides cutting-edge technological solutions for food and water security in Qatar and GCC countries. They are looking for an experienced head of engineering to lead a pioneering project in designing a portable vertical farm of the new generation.You will be part of the senior leadership team and report to the CPO. You will be responsible for helping to pick project contractors, developing, and designing the layout of the vertical farm with subordinate assistance and managing its assembly. You will be responsible for the supervision of the project from its inception to completion.For this role they are considering both contract and permanent placement candidates depending on whether the employee will decide to remain at the company after the projects completion or not.

  • Necessary key requirement for a candidateEngineering experience in design and commissioning of a vertical farms for˙cultivation.
  • Responsibilities:Supervise a highly specialized Engineering project in Vertical Farming
  • Design from scratch the layout of a multifunctional vertical farm for growing different types of lettuce.
  • Lead the team of subordinary engineers and manage all stages of products assembly.
  • Conduct maintenance and support at the final stage of the product assembly
  • Oversee the key project processes, performance reports, data, and analysis.
  • Conduct research and analysis of large data sets in regards of supplier?s technological solutions for constituent parts of the farm.
  • Determine anticipated level of security of the final model based on the parameters and characteristics of the containers supplied by foreign contractors.
  • Provide engineering thought leadership in the fields of automation and production design ? think creatively and proactively.
  • Proactively identify external resources when needed, facilitate contractual relationships, and integrate external resources into development teams.
  • Develop the design of high capital projects in conjunction with corporate engineering.
  • Improve the automation, safety, quality, reduce costs, improve production efficiencies.
  • Work in tandem with the Chief Product Officer, Operations and Quality Managers, review and monitor quality and process improvements.
