Department DefinitionThe objectives of the Expo 2020 Licensing and Retail Team are: Leverage commercial opportunities with licensees, retailers, partners, concessionaires and vendors to align and deliver an exceptional Expo; Develop revenue strategy to contribute to the greater commercial target that will contribute to delivering the first Mega-event hosted in the region; Utilize commercial opportunities to develop meaningful legacy value and ensure good corporate governance and management excellence across all Licensing and Retail operations.Opportunity ResponsibilitiesThe main responsibilities for this role include:- Research and identifying potential suppliers, manufactures, artisans, designers and SMEs, who will be the best possible partners for Expo 2020, bearing in mind experience, existing distribution capacity, established operational infrastructure, services levels, distribution and financial security;- Work collaboratively with Finance, Legal and Procurement team members on licensee negotiations, agreements, contracts and sales forecasts that drive overall sale targets and revenue to the Bureau;- Licensee Account Management - Keep accurate and continually updated forecasts for each licensee and retain full awareness of ongoing sales and retail listings. Ensure direction and integrity of the Dubai 2020 brand, licensee product development, sales and marketing strategy;- Work with cross-functional departments such as Brand Management, Marketing and Communications, Partnership & Partner Services and operations to ensure licenses agreements are adhered to and that products are approved, adhere to quality standard, are ethically sourced and are launched effectively in the marketplace;-Contribute to the creative direction and operational requirement of the Expo 2020 Licensing Style guides providing innovation and inspiration with regards to the use of the Expo 2020 brand, themes and sub-themes on licensed products and across the official retail platform;- Work in collaboration with the Procurement team to identify and appoint licensees/Retailers, including the preparation of procurement documentation, evaluation of technical and commercial proposals and justifications for the appointments of the right partners;- Management of the Licensees and maximising the commercial opportunities for the Expo 2020 IP through the design and development of licensed products/retail, marketing and distribution of productions;- Coordination with the wider Licensing team ensuring strategic alignment, product range cohesiveness, innovation and adherence to the Expo 2020 themes and sub-themes.
