Job Description

IMMEDIATE START - Senior Accountant / Financial ManagerPlease only apply if you are available to start immediately.Australian owned, Dubai based rapidly growing ecommerce furniture company is seeking a Senior Accountant with minimum 5 years? experience in a senior role.Requirements for the role

  • High level English proficiency
  • Excel analysis ? strong aptitude for numbers and quantitative skills
  • Team player with ?can do? attitude who can role with the punches
  • Minimum 5 years UAE previous experience as the person responsible for:-
Managing inventory / Warehousing of inventory / barcoding / stock takesPreparing and submitting Tax/VAT returnsManaging General Ledgers and preparation of financial reporting for Directors
  • Bachelor?s degree in Accounting, Finance - preference given to those who hold CA orCPA qualifications
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Proven ability to work in a challenging, fast paced, team environment under pressure
Preferable / Nice to have experience
  • QuickBooks Desktop
  • Shopify
  • Ecommerce
  • Experience migrating data between IT systems (Shopify / QuickBooks Desktop)
Responsibilities include
  • Preparation of tax returns and assistance with tax audits
  • Preparation of Landed Costs, order schedules and procurement summaries for major suppliers
  • Implementation of new accounting software
  • Verifying, allocating, posting and reconciling accounts payable and receivable
  • Producing error-free accounting reports and presentation to Directors
  • Interrogation of financial information
  • Identification of errors and implementation of procedures to improve efficiency
  • Provide technical support and advice to the Directors
  • Review and recommend modifications to accounting systems and procedures
  • Management of accounting team / bookkeepers
  • Participate in financial standards setting and in forecast process
  • Provide input into department?s goal setting process
  • Direct internal and external audits to ensure compliance
  • Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
  • In-depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
