Health and safety advisers to be responsible for keeping people safe at their work sites. They develop policies and procedures to make sure people aren't harmed by their jobs, investigate and report accidents, and provide guidance to leaders on how to comply with the law. They may also take responsibility for health-related projects, such as organizing talks and training for staff.Other typical responsibilities of the job include:1- investigating health-related complaints and cases of ill health2- carrying out risk assessments and site inspections3- ensuring that equipment is installed correctly and safely4- identifying potential hazards5- determining ways of reducing risks6- compiling statistics and writing reports7- running health and safety meetings and training courses for employees8- liaising with external health and safety authorities9- keeping up to date and ensuring compliance with current health and safety legislation
