JOB DESCRIPTIONDuties and responsibilities: . Knowledge on unit layout, number of patients, types of patients and their requirements. . Recognize the complications and handle emergencies during the course of treatment. . Assist RN in providing nursing care to all patients . Provide personal hygiene to the patient. . Assist RN in the nutritional and elimination needs of the patient. . Assist RN in proper positioning and back care every second hourly for all bed ridden patients . Assist RN in the ambulatory care patients according to their needs. . Accurate and proper report to the Team Leader/ Head Nurse/ Supervisor . Actively participate in the disaster management process (Identified Codes) in the hospital. . Follow strict infection control practices. . Timely dispatch of various samples. . Ensure safety, comfort, confidentiality and privacy of the patients. . Provide patient and family education on room orientation. . Explain patient rights and responsibilities . Ensure proper cleaning and disinfection of the equipment. . Ensure availability, working condition and effective use of equipment in the unit. . Escort patients to and from various departments. . Take proper care of patients belongings. . Ensure neat, clean and noise free environment to the patient and family. . Report any untoward incident immediately to Head nurse/ Supervisor or on duty supervisor and submit the written statement in the same shift. . Immediately report any safety and security issues at the work place to the concerned Head of the department/ Supervisor. . Maintain all records and reports in the unit.
