Job Description

Job Summary:We are looking for a skilled and experienced Pattern Cutter with a deep understanding of modest fashion?especially abayas. You will be responsible for creating precise patterns that ensure the perfect fit, flow, and elegance that defines our designs. Working closely with designers and tailors, you will transform creative concepts into production-ready patterns, balancing style with comfort and modesty.Key Responsibilities:

  • Create accurate garment patterns specifically tailored for abaya designs, including traditional, modern, and embellished styles.
  • Interpret design sketches and technical specifications to develop patterns that align with the brand?s aesthetic and cultural requirements.
  • Work with a variety of fabrics, including chiffons, crepes, satins, and embroidered textiles.
  • Adjust and refine patterns based on fabric behavior, fit trials, and client or design feedback.
  • Ensure that all patterns reflect modest cuts while maintaining a flattering silhouette and ease of wear.
  • Collaborate with tailors and sample makers to produce first samples and assist in fittings.
  • Grade patterns into multiple sizes while maintaining the integrity of the design and proper proportions.
  • Maintain a well-organized archive of patterns, and document all changes for future reference.
  • Stay updated on abaya trends, tailoring techniques, and fabric innovations.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience as a Pattern Cutter in modest or abaya fashion (minimum [X] years).
  • Strong understanding of traditional and contemporary abaya design and cultural nuances.
  • Skilled in manual pattern drafting; CAD experience is a plus.
  • Solid knowledge of fabric behavior, garment construction, and finishing techniques.
  • Keen eye for detail, proportion, and fit.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with design and production teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working in luxury or bespoke abaya production.
  • Knowledge of embroidery placement and embellishment pattern integration.
