Job PurposeJob Purpose Plan, manage and implement controls and processes necessary to manage the major units within Group Accounts Payable Services (GAPS). Lead on key activities that reduce and mitigate risk including analysing risks with regards to supplier disbursements, financial reporting and service delivery to internal and external customers. Act as the custodian of key reconciliation and compliance processes and systems and drive process improvements through identifying solutions that enhance efficiency and drive down unit costs.Job Accountabilities . Drive compliance towards adherence of GAPS Policy frameworks (Process, Accruals and reconciliations) through adequate internal reviews. Ensure upstream challenges or internal process deviations that impact GAPS processes are identified and reported to SM GAPS. Collaborate on and implement viable solutions to improve process quality/compliance.. Lead activities that maintain and improve customer service delivery standards including escalations and problem areas. Maintain and enhance relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders Identify and analyse areas of risk in the different business areas and through a process of discussion, influence and support the implementation of risk mitigation measures by key stakeholders.. Identify suppliers, commitments and expenditure of the Group which require to be managed by analysing the supplier data base and the expenditure data base of the Group with a view to reduce the Groups risk exposure, improve supplier relations for the benefit of the Group and control Groups cost.. Ensure timely tracking and recovery of unsettled recoverable balances (HO), excess payments through adequate follow up with suppliers and various stakeholders as applicable.. Responsible for the periodic evaluation and implementation of system improvements, by recommending software developments and requirements that enhance efficiency and effectiveness while ensuring that the data quality is maintained. This entails working with the business and IT to achieve the deliverables.. Lead and manage month end related activities and processes for HO and stations. Manage monthly review of KPI outcome and productivity reports for the department.. Act as an ambassador and sharer of knowledge and provide leadership by steering team performance through coaching, supporting staff with development and progression, mentoring high performers and working with the GAPS team leads/SMGAPs on building succession plans. Enable the team to flourish through high levels of engagement and productivity. Act as a role model for the My BC process through the timely completion of reviews and participate in team calibration.Qualifications & ExperienceExperience Finance. Accounts Payables: 8+ yearsQualifications Degree or Honours (12+3 or equivalent) Degree Qualified Accountant (either CIMA, ACCA, Chartered India/UK, CPA)Knowledge/skills . Relevant experience with an appropriate level of business exposure so as to be able to balance both commercial and finance requirements . Experience in project management and implementation of process improvement methodologies will be an advantage . Finance and risk management . Experience involving a high level of supervisory skills along with administration, communication (written or verbal) and analytical thinking skills . Strong accounting and technical skills in a service company with different lines of business operating in a multiple currency environment .
