Above all, we believe that collaboration is the best way forward.Primary ResponsibilitiesIn the role of Field Technician 1, we'll count on you to:? Calibration, maintenance and deployment of monitoring instruments in the nearshore and offshore marine environment (frequently SCUBA diving)? Though the role will focus predominantly on marine studies, the candidate may be required to contribute to field data collection studies for ambient noise, ambient air quality, soils and groundwater and terrestrial ecology;? Organization of workshop and lab area? Obtaining and assessing information and data through desktop studies;? Data handling, data entry and statistical analysis;? Organizing personal fieldwork and, at times, that of others including arranging access to sites, conducting risk assessments, arranging accommodation, conducting preliminary site visits, and compiling recording sheets;? Conducting marine environmental field surveys with components that include marine water, sediment and ecological data collection;? Assist with office instrument calibration, testing and troubleshooting tasks;? Monitor the performance of field data collection systems, evaluate marine and weather sensor data; and? Additional tasks to support the environmental team as might be required.
