Job Description

  • The role holder is responsible for managing the operational delivery of application & databases throughout the business and client sites
  • Drive the operational delivery on the application and database management strategies
  • Support the development of strategies to ensure that current applications and databases can continue to evolve into the next generation and developing scalable solutions for enterprise-wide deployment
  • Manage the migration from legacy database systems to new advanced database systems and ensures a smooth transition
  • Lead the database systems tuning and optimization in coordination with application owners
  • Ensure applications and databases availability, security, reliability and optimum usability by minimizing risk factors and safeguarding business investments
  • Manage the deployment of different projects, solving complex problems and ensuring that the applications and databases quality is compliant with the organization standards
  • Lead test procedures and ensure identified bugs are reported to the development team and ensure that applications pass all the test use cases to meet system requirements
  • Drive configuration tests of application products (releases, product changes, service packs and critical fixes prior to distribution) for launch into the client environment
  • Manage the investigation of and seek solutions for complex problems which classify for 2nd level technical support for databases and ensure swift resolution
  • Ensure the team provides timely resolution of issues and maintains core business applications at an effective and reliable level through appropriate support services
Your Qualifications
  • 6 years of relevant experience in managing application and database operations
  • 1 year in a position of progressively increasing managerial responsibility
  • Knowledge of technical troubleshooting
  • Very good skills as Solution Architect
  • Very good Understanding of System Development Lifecycle
  • Expert knowledge of various Database systems like Oracle, SQL, mangoDb etc
  • Very good Knowledge of programming languages, such as Java, C++, Python and Perl
  • Very good Knowledge of configuration tests for application products
  • Excellent debugging and optimisation skills
  • Excellent planning and organizing skills
  • Ability to multi-task and work under tight deadline
  • Strong analytical skills
