Job Description

Director- Software EngineeringThe job holder is responsible for overseeing the development, support and maintenance of all assigned projects/services:Strategy Creation, Implementation and Review

  • Participates in majorlong- and medium-term decisions and strategies, particularly where SMD has a major influence on the competitive advantage and profitability for the business.
  • Ensures development and implementation of the initiatives in alignment with the companies overall strategy and is in accordance with best and latest practice.
  • Ensures the capturing and prioritization of demand and assigns resources based on business objectives through forecasted strategy and operational plans.
User Analysis and Solution Design
  • Reviews BRD/CR and analyses the specifications to determine feasibility, cost and time required and compatibility with current system
  • Provides direction and technical expertise in design, architecture, development and system integration ensuring cost-effective and most efficient solutions as per the latest industry standards.
Software Development & Release Management
  • Owns the development lifecycle and is responsible for managing technical risks on all assigned projects
  • Monitors new developments in the field and advises the business about appropriate, cost effective business solutions which could enhance or replace existing systems
