Job Description

JOB PURPOSE:Design, define & execute the required qualification tests of the assigned product.?Manage & take ownership of Product Development projects which focus on the?improvement of existing products, and the development of new products and/or?product ranges for the Group.?KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:Maintenance of the Know-how Package

  • Generate, compile and maintain a set of documents and drawings covering the product range designs.
Non-standard Components design
  • Provide the Sales & Technical Support Unit / manufacturing units with design services for nonstandard piping components and define the required qualification tests.
Product Qualification testing
  • Ensure that the product is complying with the international standards and end users specifications.
  • Define and execute the required qualification tests
Product Development projects
  • Define, plan, supervise and be responsible for the timely execution of Product Development projects, within their allocated budget and time frame
  • Project progress / completion to planned schedule and within defined budget
  • Introduce developed products within the FPI Group
  • Prepare and distribute standard product range of the developed products to FPI Group companies in liaison with Product Managers and Component Design Engineers
  • Maintain effective & constructive liaison & communication with all stakeholders
  • Communicate effectively with Product Development Manager to report progress & potential deviations.
Development of new (or improvement of existing) ?design basis?
  • Develop / Improve design basis, scaling tools, test methods, processing techniques, production tools, material combinations, etc. to enable completion of the Product Development project.
Expert advice, Problem solving & Technical Support
  • Provide expert advice to Product Managers and Component Designers with regards to technical feasibility and design of piping components
  • Advise / assist the Sales & Technical Support Unit / manufacturing units with their design related queries
  • Assess and specify corrective measures to any manufacturing unit producing piping components differing than standard product designs
SPAN OF COMMUNICATIONInternal: Product Manager; All internal departments: Production / QA/QC / Sales &?Marketing / a variety of PED personnel; Sales & Technical Support Unit /?manufacturing units.External:Material & equipment suppliers, third parties, consultants, etc.JOB RELEVANT INFORMATION (BOUNDARIES & DECISION MAKING AUTHORITY)Take Ownership of Product Development Projects, develop new ideas, give expert?Advice.
