Commis ChefJob Location : Dubai, UAEMain Responsibilities :•Open and close shifts according to the kitchen check list•Respect grooming, hygiene, safety and sanitation standards.•Ensure quality standards in kitchen supplies receiving and in food production using records, menus and appropriate reference material.•Follow all rules of local and state health regulations.•Determine how food should be presented and create decorative food displays.•Estimate amounts and costs of required supplies, such as food and ingredients.•Inspect supplies, equipment, and work areas to ensure conformance to established standards.•Monitor sanitation practices to ensure that employees follow standards and regulations.•Work with head cook to receive and store food stuffs and supplies.•Evaluate current season and make recommendations for following season.•Check the quality of raw and cooked food products to ensure that standards are met.•Check the quantity and quality of received products.•Collaborate with other personnel to plan and develop recipes and menus, considering such factors as seasonal availability of ingredients and the likely number of customers.•Order or requisition food and other supplies needed to ensure efficient operation.•Supervise and coordinate activities of cooks and workers engaged in food preparation.•Maintain a good and professional communication with colleagues and front of the house team.•Respect assigned schedule and duties.•Attend and participate in all briefings, trainings and meetings.•Participate in overall staff orientation as possible.
