Job Description

Responsibility of all field operations of jetty systems, coal handling system, ash handling system. He/she has to be in close co-ordination with Coal and ash control room, operate the local valves, pumps and equipment?s, check plant condition and isolate the equipment?s for maintenance work. Ensure plant housekeeping, daily checklist filling and reporting every activity to control room.Role & Responsibilities

  1. ?Follow safety guidelines including PTW system
  2. Comply with all statutory and environment norms
  3. Support Shift Supervisor in system configuration for local line up and isolation of equipment
  4. Monitoring and recording of local parameters (e.g. levels, pressure, temperatures of equipment?s, bearings, lub oils etc.).
  5. Local monitoring of plant condition of equipment through observation, listening for abnormal sound, detecting vibrations, heat etc. and reporting to desk operator.
  6. Co-ordination with control room operations
  7. Reporting any leakages of coal, ash, air, water etc.
  8. Manual operation of valves, dampers, equipment?s etc.
  9. Ensuring the correct position of piping hangers and supports
  10. Checking for valves, safety valves, PRVs passing and reporting to control room
  11. Writing major activities / events performed during the shift in logbook and filling the area log sheets
  12. Adherence to SOPs/ Operating Instructions.
  13. Switch from automatic to manual controls and isolate equipment mechanically and electrically to allow for safe execution of repair work.
  14. Adjust and /or controls valves on equipment to regulate and set operations of system or industrial processes
  15. Inform and report on accidents, suggest preventive measures.
  16. Provide first line support to report and initial extinguishing of fires, and other emergency and critical occurrences and keeping the CCR informed at all times.
  17. Reporting unsafe condition and unsafe act at field to competent authority
  18. Proactive team member and participation in team work.
  19. Ensure housekeeping & cleanliness.
  20. To work any other area as assigned by shift in engineer or desk operator
  21. Perform other duties as assigned from time to time.
Work Condition
  • While performing their duties, the employee will be working in close proximity to moving mechanical plant/equipment, and will also be required to work outside in all weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, but they will be required to work in high noise level conditions on a regular basis.
  • From time to time they may be required to work at remote locations.
