Job Description

To manage and monitor the financial reporting and transactional accounting of the companys partnerships. Applies principles of accounting to analyze financial information and prepare financial reports for multiple affiliates. Accomplishes tasks with particular emphasis on customer service.Client DetailsOur client is a luxury fragrance distribution group. They are looking to expand their Finance/Accounting department and have an opening for the Chief Accountant.DescriptionMonthly closing process and reconciliation of general ledger accounts.Compiles and analyzes financial information to prepare entries to general ledger accounts, cost centres anddocuments business transactions.Responsible for budget preparation, cost management, information management, performance measurement, financial analysis, and decision-making analysis.Finalize the monthly accounts and pass the necessary entries for closing the books of accounts.Prepares financial statements and other reports to summarize and interpret current and projected companyfinancial position.Responsible for the Treasury and Monitor daily cash flows and incoming/outgoing funds transfers.Facilitate the approval of corporate operating and capital budgets and to monitor expenditures against the same designing appropriate controls so that the company operates within budget frameworks and limits.Prepare monthly and quarterly projected cash flows for the Group and report to Group Controller.Report, analyze, and ensure integrity of all financial information.Work with both internal and external auditors during financial and operational audits.Develop and implement various accounting procedures.Prepare periodic statutory reports and returns accurately and on time to meet companys needs.Provides technical accounting support and interpretation to subordinates.Coordinates activities with other departments and work groups as needed.Provide top management with data and analyses during board meetings, in contractual negotiations etc. to helpthem make decisions on these matters.Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.ProfileGraduate Degree in Accounting/Finance or Commerce, Knowledge of computerized accounting, and typing.Qualified Accountant (e.g., CA, CPA, ACCA, etc.)5-10 years professional accounting experience within Retail/DistributionAbility to understand, follow and confer written and oral instructions.Ability to effectively supervise staff comprised of entry and journey level professionals engaged in carrying out departmental functions.Extensive knowledge of generally accepted standard accounting principles, established procedures and departmental guidelines.Ability to access, operate and maintain various software applications.Experience of entering information into an accounting system and of researching information.Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationship with other employees.Good Excel skills.Accurate with attention to detail.Experience of making prescribed data verification and/or procedural checks on information.Good planning and organizing skills with the ability to meet prescribed deadlines.Good problem-solving skills.Good standard of numeracy.Job OfferThe successful candidate for this role will be offered a competitive monthly salary, all-inclusive of basic, housing and transport allowances.
