Job Description

Position Overview:The Broadband and Router Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, and troubleshooting broadband internet connections and router devices. This role involves a deep understanding of networking technologies, broadband protocols, and router configurations. The engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure high-speed and reliable internet connectivity for both residential and business customers.Key Responsibilities:Router Configuration:

  • Configure and maintain routers, switches, and other networking equipment to ensure seamless connectivity and adherence to security protocols.
  • Optimize router settings to achieve high-speed data transmission and minimize latency.
Troubleshooting and Maintenance:
  • Identify and resolve network connectivity issues for both wired and wireless connections.
  • Conduct regular maintenance checks on routers and related equipment to prevent service disruptions.
Broadband Protocols and Standards:
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest broadband technologies, protocols, and industry standards.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements related to broadband services.
Customer Support:
  • Provide technical support to customers experiencing connectivity problems, assisting them in resolving issues and optimizing their broadband experience.
  • Communicate technical concepts to non-technical customers in a clear and understandable manner.
Quality Assurance:
  • Perform tests and assessments to ensure broadband services meet quality standards and performance expectations.
  • Analyze performance metrics and use them to fine-tune network settings for optimal results.
Documentation and Reporting:
  • Maintain accurate documentation of network configurations, troubleshooting steps, and solutions implemented.
  • Generate regular reports on network performance, outages, and improvements.
Collaboration:
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams including network engineers, software developers, and customer support personnel to deliver comprehensive solutions.
  • Collaborate with vendors and third-party providers to optimize equipment and service offerings.
