Job Description

AutoCAD Draughtsman | Design | ConstructionOverview of the roleÿResponsible for the preparation / revising of AFC workshop drawings, following design information from the Consultant or Specialist Sub-Contractors. All 2D drawings (AutoCAD) to be extracted from 3D models (Revit).What you will do

  • Developing 2D engineering drawings from the 3D model / IFC design information into submission drawings with minimal supervision ? GA Shop Drawings, Blockwork Shop Drawings, Tiling Shop Drawings, RCP Shop Drawings.
  • Collate information from related Arch / Struct / consultant?s drawings / RFI responses / SI / amendments advised by sub-contractors and incorporate them into the appropriate workshop drawings.
  • Developing and submitting drawings for Authorities? approval - trial pits drawings, DEWA drawings, DM drawings, DCD drawings.
  • BIM Model ? accurately 3D model within Revit and extract 2D drawing information. Ensure BIM Model is always current and updated as required.
  • Visit site and liaise closely with site staff to review AFC self-delivered package requirements.
  • Check drawings prepared by others are fully coordinated and accurate.
  • Ensure maintenance of department records, CAD standards, drawing filing and retrieval systems.
  • Monitor and review own short-term work load programme and that of a small to medium sized team to ensure timely delivery of drawings.
  • Help drive staff development and good working practice.
