Job Description

Duties and ResponsibilitiesBusiness development

  • Assisting the firm to leverage our global relationships to source and secure new business.
  • Onboarding new clients to increase the companies? brand and market share within the UAE.
  • Strengthening our existing client relationships through ensuring that our stakeholder management strategy is industry leading.
  • Inspiring people and our clients (new, existing, and potential) by being an ambassador promoting J. Awan & Partners at relevant industry and promotional events.
Compliance and AML Responsibilities
  • Draft and submit regulatory license applications to the DFSA for our clients and project manage the applications to receipt of the formal license
  • Function as a high-performing outsourced Compliance Officer and Money Laundering Reporting Officer for a number of our clients.
  • Function as the trusted Authorized Individual ? Compliance Officer and MLRO and liaise with the DFSA and other regulators as needed
  • Provide outstanding day to day support to clients in executing compliance deliverables.
  • Assist with drafting and implementing industry leading compliance and anti-money laundering policies and procedures.
  • Attending client Board meetings and committee meetings to provide compliance and AML related reports
  • Drafting compliance monitoring programmes, implementing and running monitoring programmes on behalf of clients
  • Provide training on compliance, AML and corporate governance topics.
  • Keep abreast of relevant laws, rules and regulations and ensuring that any changes are reported to clients in a timely manner and reflected in the relevant policies, procedures and compliance programs immediately.

  • Significant demonstrable experience in dealing with the DFSA and UAE regulatory authorities and the wider MENA region.
  • Broker-Dealer compliance experience
  • At least 8 years? overall industry experience with 4 or more years of direct compliance experience within the financial services industry.
  • Direct experience in creating and implementing regulatory compliance programs within a successful financial services organization.
