Job Description

We are currently hiring for an experienced AS400 Technical Lead for a leading company in Dubai, UAE. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience in AS400 development and will be responsible for leading a team of developers in designing and implementing AS400 solutions. The candidate should have strong technical skills, excellent leadership abilities, and a deep understanding of AS400 architecture and development best practices.Responsibilities:

  1. Lead a team of developers in designing, coding, testing, and implementing AS400 solutions.
  2. Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements and provide technical guidance on AS400 solutions.
  3. Perform code reviews and provide feedback to developers to ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices.
  4. Create and maintain technical documentation, including system design, specifications, and user manuals.
  5. Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to AS400 applications and provide ongoing support to users.
  6. Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and trends in AS400 development and provide recommendations for process improvements.
  7. Lead and participate in cross-functional teams to deliver complex projects on time and within budget.
  8. Mentor and coach junior developers to enhance their technical skills and knowledge of AS400 development.
Preferred Candidate:
  1. Minimum 5 years of experience in AS400 development, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
  2. Strong understanding of AS400 architecture and development best practices.
  3. Proficient in RPG, CL, and SQL programming languages.
  4. Experience with modernization of AS400 applications using tools such as Rational Developer for i (RDi) and WebSphere.
  5. Experience with AS400 integration technologies, such as MQ Series and Web Services.
  6. Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  7. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to quickly identify and resolve technical issues.
  8. Ability to work under pressure and deliver high-quality results within tight deadlines.
