Job Title: Accounts AssistantReports To: Assistant Accounts ManagerLocation: Dubai, UAEJob Type: Full TimeJob Summary:The Accounts Assistant provides essential support to the finance team by managing daily accounting tasks. This role is key to maintaining the companys financial records, ensuring accuracy, and assisting in the preparation of financial statements. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, organized, and possess a good understanding of accounting principles.Key Responsibilities:Processing Transactions:

  • Record day-to-day financial transactions and complete the posting process.
  • Verify that transactions are recorded in the correct daybook, suppliers ledger, customer ledger, and general ledger.
  • Reconcile accounts payable and receivable.
Bank Reconciliation:
  • Perform regular bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
Invoice Management:
  • Process invoices for various departments, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Handle queries related to invoicing and payments.
Expense Reporting:
  • Review and process employee expense claims and process reimbursement of petty cash.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
Financial Reporting:
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
  • Prepare and submit VAT returns, if applicable.
Administrative Support:
  • Maintain and organize financial records and documentation.
  • Support the finance team with ad-hoc administrative tasks as needed (e.g. cheque preparation)
Qualifications:
  • Education:
  • A diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Professional certifications (e.g., AAT, ACCA) are a plus.
Experience:
  • 1-2 years of experience in an accounting or finance role.
  • Experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, Business Central).
Working Conditions:
  • Standard office environment.
  • May require occasional overtime during peak periods, such as month-end or year-end closing.
