Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute preventive maintenance for critical systems, mitigating the risk of service interruptions to on-air outputs.
  • Configure and maintain user accounts, passwords, and distribution groups, while ensuring optimal security measures.
  • Create informative knowledge base articles and documentation to enhance user understanding and self-help resources.
  • Provide swift support for urgent and critical issues, minimizing service disruption for on-air, web, galleries, presenters, and studios.
  • Maintain and support essential IT devices for field journalists and external bureaus, ensuring uninterrupted business operations.
  • Address end-user incidents and requests through efficient call, email, and ESS response, adhering to SLAs/OLAs.
  • Collaborate with vendors to swiftly repair faulty IT equipment, prioritizing critical on-air devices timely replacement.
  • Participate in and manage section-related projects to enhance support capabilities.
Other Responsibilities:
  • Implement meticulous asset management practices, meticulously documenting all IT hardware and software assets.
  • Generate pertinent job-related reports and submit them to superiors for review.
  • Undertake additional job-related duties as directed by superiors, taking on higher roles when necessary.
  • Facilitate training for new employees within the Technology Support team.
Job Requirements / Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Science in Information Technology or a related field.
  • Preferred ITIL Foundation certification or the ability to become certified within 3 months of hire.
Skills and Attributes:
  • Strong technical aptitude with hands-on experience in IT support.
  • Effective problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot technical issues efficiently.
  • Excellent communication skills to provide clear instructions and support to end users.
  • Detail-oriented approach to maintaining accurate records and documentation.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor colleagues effectively.
  • Project management skills for coordinating and executing section-related projects.
  • Familiarity with asset management principles and best practices.
  • Proficiency in using ITIL practices for effective service management.
