Employment: Full Time Job Purpose: Working as part of multi-disciplinary teams, role holders are responsible for contributing to an exceptional student experience through the delivery of teaching, research, business and enterprise engagement activity. Key Responsibilities:The role holder will contribute to delivering the Facultys strategic priorities, which include the integration of excellent teaching, high quality research, emerging business and regional engagement development activities within an academic context. The role holder will be responsible for the development, organisation and delivery of curriculum content, within undergraduate programmes of the department. Manage English language provision in line with agreed frameworksExpected teaching load is 3-4 modules at each Fall and Spring semestersCoordinate the development of core teaching, learning, assessment and testing material relevant to the English language provisionUse appropriate teaching, learning and assessment methods to support learning and teachingParticipate in the planning, design and enhancement of the Universitys language learning provisionEnhance the Universitys research strengths as appropriateParticipate in internal, national and international networks to contribute to student recruitment, regional engagement and to enhancing the profile of the Languages Centre nationally and internationallyUndertake academic and pastoral tutoringTo liaise closely with teaching, technical and administrative staff to ensure quality teaching supportTo undertake any other duties consistent with the level and nature of the post. REQUIREMENTS: Educational Qualifications:Good Honors degree (2.1 or above) in a relevant disciplineRSA DELTA, MA TESOL or equivalent and to meet the requirements of the British CouncilRelevant PhD and/or equivalent postgraduate/professional qualifications or experience specified on the link above in the Person Specification, the Degree would need to be Full-time only and not (part-time or online).Specific KnowledgeSpecialist subject expertise and understanding of relevant texts, concepts, and approaches relating to teaching EAP in a Higher Education contextEssential Skills and AbilitiesAbility to coordinate teamsAbility to ensure and deliver a high-quality student experience (learning, teaching and support)Good interpersonal skillsStrong oral and written communication skillPrior experience in Britch University SystemDelivering EAP teaching in a Higher Education environment (or similar)Essential Education/TrainingGood honors degree (2.1 or above) in a relevant disciplineRSA DELTA, MA TESOL or equivalent and to meet the requirements of the British Council accreditationDesirable Skills and AbilitiesParticipation in discipline-related national or international academic networksExperience of programme / curriculum planning and developmentEvidence of effective team leadership in an academic or industrial environmentDesirable Education/TrainingRelevant PhD and/or equivalent postgraduate/professional qualification or experience
