Joining us means joining a caring, responsible, and innovative company where more than 70,000 people lead the way to greener and smarter mobility, worldwideResponsibilitiesThe role of Transport & Customs Leader will lead project/s customs processes, manage and update company records, ensuring that all customs related documents are stored accurately and in compliance with company regulations. As well as this responsibility, you can expect your duties to include the following:

  • Manage and track shipments of goods from the time they are released by the supplier or partner under PO terms until they are delivered to the agreed-upon destination by the customer and/or project
  • Ensure that the project requirements in terms of smooth flow of shipments based on the agreed Incoterms till place of delivery is followed and implemented.
  • Responsible for determining, managing, and reviewing Customs classifications, regulatory requirements (licenses, certificates, delegation letters, etc.) and all required documentation ensuring smooth customs clearance.
  • Be the focal point of contact for government authorities (i.e. Egyptian Customs Authority and NAT) as well as internal project/s stakeholder.
  • Lead the company responses to queries and audits, ensuring that the most cost-effective and compliant solutions are identified, provide advice to the business on the best course of action
  • Review and standardize Companys use of third-party service providers for improved compliance and cost savings.
  • Manage Customs brokers and/or freight forwarders, as well as their key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Conduct periodical customs checks, identify customs risks and prevent and mitigate violations, implementing any corrective and preventative actions.
  • Keep business informed of any material changes (Customs tariff, procedure or regulations) in customs legislation.
  • Prepare and attend the Return of Experience (ROE) meetings: draw up final transport statements, ensure that satisfaction questioner survey is shared to project/s manager/s, and complete the freight forwarder evaluation.
  • Work closely with the Finance team to ensure import payment is accurate and the deferment account is maintained at the correct levels.
  • Work closely with Procurement team to define all contract/s specifications related to packing, transport, customs clearance.
  • Work Closely with Functions manager/internal stakeholders to define appropriate transport strategy and KPI?s for the project.
  • Ensure constant update and compliance to any national legislative changes
  • Developing and performing audit activities and identifying audit priorities to ensure adequate documentation for audit is prepared and stored
Required skills
  • Strong leadership, organizational, project management and coordination skills with multiple stakeholders
  • Project management skills / organizational skills
  • Adept with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.)
  • Good communication skills (adapt the information to the target audience)
  • Rapid self-starting capability and ability to work autonomously
  • Good command of English Language (written / spoken)
  • Good knowledge of national customs and compliance laws and international Trade
Required experience
  • Minimum 7 years of professional experience in customs and foreign trade or logistics operations.
  • Previous Experience in working for a project-based environment is preferable
