Started in 2014, the centre now hosts 500+ associates, for multiple Danaher operating companies focusing on Diagnostics, Life Science, and Environmental and Applied Science segments. The operating companies include Beckman Coulter, Radiometer, Leica Biosystems, Danaher Digital, Hach, Leica Microsystems, HemoCue, Videojet and Cepheid.The IDC workforce comprises of various product engineering teams, working on the development of software and hardware components of cutting-edge products for, Immunoassay, Chemistry, Hematology, Molecular Diagnostics, Oncology, Neurosurgery and Water Quality. IDC has evolved as a centre of excellence for Cloud and data analytics, with significant contributions to the key informatics solutions. The teams consist of highly talented software & hardware engineers and development managers. The teams are supported by local Product managers, Quality & Regulatory and Intellectual property specialists.The in-house teams work in close coordination with other global R&D centres at US, France, Germany, Japan, Australia, Denmark and Sweden. Located at the centre of Bangalore IT HUB, IDC is housed at state of art facility, measuring 120 K Sqft.Primary job purpose:The principal software engineer will work with the global solution and software architects and drive the detailed design with development team and lead the development of software associated with various Interoperability and connected workflow solutions according to Leica Biosystems? processes and quality standards.The incumbent will work closely with the following partners as needed:

• Architect community
• Program/Project Manager and team members
• Product Manager
• System Analysts
• Service and Technical support
• Software Developers and Software Testers

Key responsibilities:

• Coding and Delivery ? contribute to delivery of features and capabilities in the product code base
• Provide overall technical leadership for the scrum team to ensure that technical issues are quickly resolved and/or escalated

• Lead detailed design, development and documentation
• Develop a proof of concepts to resolve sophisticated technical challenges
• Perform structured code reviews, critiquing code produced by others and providing constructive comment
• Investigate and analyze software related issues
• Ensure teams adhere to technical standards and best practices to align with the defined application architecture, development infrastructure and technology stack integrity.
• Deliver detailed effort estimates for software design implementation based on Agile principles
• Support in maintaining the technology roadmaps and manage tech debt backlogs for Interoperability and connected workflow solutions to support the future roadmap.
• Collaborate with global architects.
• Mentor, train, and lead developers in line with project objectives and priorities

Required Skill Competencies and Experience:

• Should have graduated in Computer Science or Software Engineering (or equivalent qualification)
• 12+ years of Software Engineering experience as a software developer in progressive roles designing, implementing, and productizing software/cloud solutions.
• Possess 5+ years? experience driving and managing technical artefacts; proficiency in micro-service and interface design is required.
• Proficient with one or more programming language: Java/C#, Python and JavaScript
• Structured and influential communicator: verbally, in written documentation and presentations.
• Network and Software security essentials!
• Experienced in working in a distributed team.
• Ability to lead and mentor a team of developers through the application of strong technical, communication and collaboration skills.
• Flexible approach to problems solving with a sense for technical pragmatism and a strong focus on delivery, without sacrificing quality.
• Ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously.
• Ability to understand and discuss technical concepts, schedule trade-offs and opportunistic new ideas with technical employees.
• Should be able to think strategically and execute methodically and tactically.

Highly Desirable Competencies:

• Experience working on medical applications or other highly regulated application domains
• Experience with UML design and documentation.
• Experience with protocols such as HL7 / FHIR and/or DICOM,
• Experience with engines such as Mirth / NextGen Connect and/or Interfaceware Iguana.
• Experience in productizing Digital offerings with full cybersecurity compliance requirements of the Medical Devices industry will be preferred.
