So whatever your role, if you share our passion for helping others, you?ll be working towards creating a better and fairer future for all.You will be responsible to manage different functional/competency teams, units and respective budgets within R&D software development focused on shaping and delivering new or upgrading existing software and solutions to create superior customer value. You will be responsible for the R&D product with intention to add responsibilities over time for in-market and evolving people and product towards Cloud/SaaS dev. You will also act as the EDI Site Leader across all functions which would include culture setting, coaching, talent development and recruiting strategies.Key Areas of Responsibilities:

  • Executes on the organization?s strategy, providing clearly defined success criteria and levels of accountability for individuals in the team. Removes impediments for the progress of the teams and acts as escalation point
  • Focuses on customers by understanding their needs to design and implement solutions
  • Acts as key liaison with other functions and organizations outside R&D to drive business results all to ensure great customer digital solutions are developed
  • Consistently delivers high Quality software at a sustainable speed, maintaining an advanced level of software craftmanship as established by the SW CoE
  • Ensures adherence to all applicable development processes, legal, quality, security and regulatory requirements
  • Develops High Performing teams: use best in class practices regarding recruitment and selection, adequate staffing, renumeration, goal setting and performance appraisals and people development. Make use of technical content and deliverables as well as feedback from others when appropriate.
  • Drives an engaged, innovative, and inspiring working environment in the teams by motivating, challenging and coaching employees
  • Actively manages the portfolio of resources, tools and training to accomplish current and future key objectives. Manages the needed capabilities whilst developing and maintaining a long-term view on the required competences and knowledge
  • Contributes to the technical innovation of the product and/or systems which the teams are accountable for by providing insights, hands-on technical reviews and continuous feedback
  • Stays up-to-date on the relevant technology domain. Enjoys self-learning and brings new technical practices and innovations to the team
  • Collaborates with relevant internal and external parties establishing an effective network to obtain input on technological developments, identifying trends and opportunities
  • Executes on continuous improvement in processes and ways of working to achieve operational excellence
  • Makes informed business and technical decisions quickly as the result of well-directed data gathering, effective analysis and good judgement. Balancing the tension between daily tasks and the long-term strategic vision of the organization
  • Translates the organizations business goals, customer/ market needs and technical strategy into a transformation plan and drive this across the teams
  • Provides clearly defined success criteria and levels of accountability per team/ train
  • Lead teams and leaders through Philips transformation from on-premises, siloed and managed offerings toward cloud-delivered, integrated, autonomous applications ? culture, skills, technology, strategy
You are part of EDI team under PD business cluster at Philips. This person will be initially responsible for the ICAP product (125 resources), with intention to add responsibilities over time for in-market and evolving people and product toward Cloud/SaaS dev. He or She will also act as the EDI Site Leader across all functions (>600 resources), which would include culture setting, broad event, talent development and recruiting strategies ? really the ?brand? of EDI onsite.To succeed in this role, you?ll need a customer-first attitude and the following:
  • Masters or PhD or equivalent level in a technical profession
  • Typically, 18+ years of relevant working experience, including all aspects of software development and execution and 10+ years management experience
  • Strong Development and Quality delivery execution background
  • A philosophy that encompasses servant leadership and deliberately fosters autonomy and ownership at all levels of the organization
  • Expert knowledge of product development for consumer propositions, preferably medical consumer propositions
  • Has passion for modern Software Engineering methods, e.g., agile and incremental deliveries; CICD systems; DevOps methodologies
  • Can aptly interact with peer Functional Leaders, Executives and Customers and represent ICAP, R&D, or EDI
  • Experience designing and implementing new or evolved organizational design models
  • Proven experience and success operating budgets that encompass manpower and lab/tooling expenses
  • Proven capabilities in designing, growing and motivating SW Engineering organizations
  • Proven capabilities coaching and developing strong SW Engineering Managers, Team Leaders, Architects and Tech Leads
  • Proven skills interacting with customers and field deployment teams for her/his products
  • Has capability to effectively connect with and manage remote teams (other time zones, geographies) on unified mission(s) ? with occasional (not frequent) travel ability
  • Experience in interacting with and running projects and managing teams across the globe
  • Experience building and delivering high quality products ? traditional as well as SaaS or managed
  • Able to influence activities outside R&D scope e.g., finance, marketing, operation, Services
