Engineering Shop Coordinator - ByblosThe Industrial and Mechanical Engineering (IME) Department at the School of Engineering has a vacancy for anEngineering Shop Coordinatorreporting to the Chair of IME Department. This position is based on Byblos campus.Role SummaryThe Engineering Shop Coordinator is mainly responsible for performing a variety of tasks that would ensure proper operation of the Engineering Shop.Main Duties & Responsibilities* Maintains all physical facilities including laboratories and workshops* Maintains inventory of shop equipment and supplies* Supervises the workshop assistants? work* Assists faculty in the development of workshop and lab assignments and relevant tool kits* Advises students on workshop related assignments and assist them with their projects* Assists in assessment activities relevant to laboratories and workshops* Performs other duties relevant to this job as assignedMinimum Required Qualifications* Vocational/High Technical Studies Level (TS), with Relevant Specialization preferably in Electromechanical field* Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar capacity* Knowledge of shop tools, materials, methods and techniques* Knowledge of welding, brazing, forging, cutting, soldering, wood working* Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions* Ability to use a wide variety of power and mechanical tools* Computer literacy and Knowledge of 3D modeling a plus* Ability to interact effectively with faculty, students & staff* Good Communication Skills Interested candidates should email their CVs with a letter of interest outlining the applicant?s relevant experience to vacancy1@lau.edu.lb, specifying the job title in the subject line.
