Production Manager

Job Description

Primary objective of this job:To plan, organize and optimize production resources (Workers / Machinery / Methods / Materials / Budget) to meet & maintain effective output of production requirements in terms of cost, quality and customer delivery.Key Results and Activities:? Efficiently plan & manage the production processes to ensure completion of the required daily / weekly / monthly targets in line with project / customer specifications, meeting quality and delivery expectations, minimizing costs where possible and ensure the required best working practices are maintained at all times.? Maximize performance and profitability against agreed targets.? Plan and manage the key performance indicators (KPIs) for each area of responsibility.? Provide regular status reports and any other reports required by the Management on daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly basis (as required).? Plan in detail, monitor & control - workers, machinery, methods, materials for each work station / customers orders.? Identify best tools and technologies to help manage workflow; deploy 5S and 6 Sigma practices, use Lean Manufacturing best practices and maintain a culture of continuous improvement towards Productivity and Quality.? List and optimize stock of workshop consumables and other materials essential for maintaining continuous production.? Conduct cost comparison studies of sub-contracting, and based on that recommend activities or products to be sub-contracted to improve efficiency and productivity.? Preventive maintenance plan & control on Plant equipment and machineries.? Perform Production capacity and workload analysis to support subcontracting activities and, make or buy decisions, taking into account plant capabilities and cost of production.? Developing workflow procedures, set up time motion study and periodically update production time standard.? Maintain records through ERP system for all work orders in the production system of all necessary information flow, eg WIP, WO closure / excess / shortage materials analysis as per engineering BOM and follow corrective action.? Ensure proper production tools availability and effective utilization and provide training to improve workforce competency & productivity.? Ensure that the production function operates in accordance with quality, health & safety and environmental policies and procedures to ensure the safety and wellbeing of staff and interested parties.? Manage, coach and develop a high performing manufacturing team that meets agreed objectives and delivers best practice results, added value and continuous improvement.? Plan and organize production effectively and manage production teams to carry out their duties to the required levels of productivity, quality and timescales.? Regular communication with Management.?
