ISRY,a community-based development programme supporting at-risk youth in Jordan between the ages of 15 to 30. ISRY will adopt a positive youth development approach to psychosocial support interventions with the aim of: promoting learning; increasing stability through co-existence and inclusive security; and building the psychosocial resiliency of youth and their families. Mercy Corps, in close coordination with Axiom, will create connections between youth and Public Security actors through engagement in nature-based activities and community-based activities. The programme will identify three local community-based partners in the north, center and south of Jordan to establish Community Action Hubs that provide youth with a safe space to improve social stability and ultimately make youth and their communities more resilient. Additionally, the program will seek to strengthen the community-based organizations? institutional capacities to sustain long-term impact The project will place additional focus on the national level to strengthen the role of women and youth representation in the Youth Peace and Security - YPS UN Security Council Resolution 2250 - National Coalition in Jordan, through close collaboration with the Ministry of Youth and other stakeholders.General Description:The Youth Peace and Security Coordinator is key to Mercy Corps??Inclusive Security and Resilient Youth Project ? ISRY, Project. HeShe will assist the Youth Peace and Security Team Leader in activities that fall under objective 3(Improved National Level Participation of Youth and Women in Peace and Security),including the design and implementation of the activities relevant to Youth, Peace and Security UNSCR 2250. The coordinator is expected to coordinate closely with the Team Leader to develop and implement activities including leading workshops, coordinating for meetings with partners, contributing to the development of a strong network with the coalition members and actively engaging youth in the YPS UNSCR 2250 activities. HeShe will report to the Youth, Peace, and Security Team Leader and work closely with the Senior Project Manager and the Senior Policy and Government Affairs Advisor at MC and other technical units in the project, through providing technical inputs in relation to the other components in the project to support the implementation of the youth program.Essential Job Responsibilities:* Support the Youth, Peach and Security Team Leader in the design, development and implementation of the project activities.* Attend Project internal and external meetings as assigned by the Team Leader and the Senior PM and provide updates and inputs.* Contribute to the Facilitation process to ensure involving YPS actors in the development of a road map towards the creation of the UNSCR 2250 National Action Plan (NAP).* Support the Team Leader in all YPS UNSCR 2250 relevant activities and ensure regular inputs provided to His/Her supervisor, including contributing to developing SoWs, capacity assessment, and oversee implementation and reporting in close coordination with the project team.* Support the Team Leader in developing and implementing a strategy for creating effective institutional links between the national level and local level, youth and young women focused/led organizations.* In close coordination with the Team Leader and the Project Management, support in the assessment process for existing YPS UNSCR 2250 in Jordan, the gaps and critical priorities, and where value can be added in accelerating the outcomes of UNSCR 2250.Capacity building* Coordinating closely with the different projects leads to ensuring that YPS UNSCR 2250 activities are designed according to the projects? milestones, and ensuring the component activities are gender, MHPSS mainstreamed.* Contribute to the design, organization, and facilitation of workshops and training in line with agreed work plans.* Conduct follow up meetings, and monitoring activities, and other project activities* Assist the Team Leader in organizing project information sessions, events, meetings, and workshops for stakeholders including coalition members* Review and research best practices on successful implementation of YPS UNSCR 2250 regionally and globally, and ensure integration of these practices in the projects? activities.Community Engagement* Support the Team Leader in the network building within selected communities contexts with Governmental, local and international stakeholders* Contribute to the development of project work plans throughout the project lifecycle* Support the development and roll out stakeholder mapping and consultation throughout the development of the Youth, Peace and Security National Action Plan (NAP).* Support effective youth and women engagement and community input into YPS UNSCR 2250 related activities and design of the National Action Plan.* In collaboration with community partners and project components, develop and implement structured interviews with host community members, and other stakeholders.* Lead the plan for consolidating youth, women and community workers? insights and feedback into summary reports and briefs and minutes for use in adjusting project design.Coordination & Communication* Coordinate closely with the Team Leader, the Senior PM, and the Senior Policy and Government affairs advisor in any communication and coordination with the Ministry of Youth-MoY regarding YPS UNSCR 2250 related activities.* Ensure positive communication with the MoY and all partners affiliated to YPS UNSCR 2250 Coalition in Jordan, and act as liaison with the MoY.* Build and maintain relationships with actors in the YPS coalition in order to get updated information and overcome challenges, coordinate project implementation.* Lead the planning and coordination of launching events, workshops, consultations with close collaboration with the Team Leader and the project team.Others- Provide support for organizing visits, meeting, events, trainings and workshops- Conduct himself/herself both professionally and personally in such a manner as to bring credit to Mercy Corps and to not jeopardize its humanitarian mission.- Other duties as assigned.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY: NAACCOUNTABILITY:REPORTS DIRECTLY TO:Youth, Peace and Security Team LeaderWORKS DIRECTLY WITH:Senior Project Manager, Project technical leads, MEL Unit, Senior Policies and Government Affairs Advisor.KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:* College degree in Education, Psychology, Political Science, Sociology, Social Work or related field * At least 4 years of related experience in a complex emergency or relief context.* Strong experience working in youth development programs, and working in community engagement sectors.* Experience in multi-stakeholder development programs that involve working with government actors and facilitating consultation meetings.* Good knowledge of women and youth peace an
