Our welcome center is the hub and heart of our Y. The right person for this job will be a great multi-tasker, good with computers, customer service oriented and have the ability to work nights and weekend. The position is a full time entry level position.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:* Provides excellent service to members, guests, and program participants in the Y and on the phone, contributing to member retention.* Stays up to date on all programs offered and accurately promotes all membership programs to current and potential members.* Conduct interviews and/or cause driven tours responsive to the needs of prospective members; sells memberships.* Builds relationships with members; helps members connect with one another and the YMCA.* Handles and resolves membership concerns and informs supervisor of unusual situations or un-resolved issues.* Applies all YMCA policies dealing with member services.* May issue lockers and hand out towels.* May monitor the locker rooms as required.* Acts as a role model for the values of caring, respect, honesty, and responsibility in dealings with staff, members, and children.* Performs other duties as assigned.* Process registrations for all programs not assigned to the Membership & Registration Manager.QUALIFICATIONS* Excellent interpersonal and problem solving skills.* Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community* Previous customer service, sales or related experience.* Good knowledge of computers.
