This program will take place over a period of seven years (2020-2027) in thirteen countries and three regions.The VCP aims to increase the performance of local partner organizations in developing countries in implementing inclusive, innovative, and sustainable development initiatives that will advance gender equality in the 13 countries. Oxfam?s role is to support civil society organizations (CSOs) working with the most vulnerable and marginalized people to claim and exercise their rights. Oxfam puts women?s/girls? rights at the heart of everything it does. The knowledge, capacity and expertise of the qualified volunteers will be leveraged through short and long-term assignments with local partner organizations.The VCP will be articulated within Oxfam?s Country Strategy while ensuring compliance with Oxfam-Qu?bec?s contractual agreements with its donors.MAIN RESPONSIBILITIESIn close collaboration with the Oxfam team members in the country of intervention and under the supervision of the country Gender Justice Program Manager, the volunteer cooperant will be responsible to:

  • Support the?program?implementation,?including?quality?control,?negotiation?with?local?partners, financial management, documentation, monitoring, evaluation, accountability and learning (MEAL), reporting.
  • Coordinate the planning and reporting exercises, such as the elaboration of annual work plans and narrative reports, with the different program teams. Facilitate and contribute to the preparation of financial reports, with Business Development/?Funding?team to?ensure?compliance?with?Oxfam Qu?bec and donor standards and requirements according to the established timeline.
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of Oxfams?feminist?partnership?approach,?including working?with?coalitions?and?networks,?adopting?a?strategic?and?proactive?perspective?on?how?to achieve partner-led approaches to sustainable change.
  • Ensure that womens rights are developed and protected in the program.
  • Work in close collaboration with?Oxfams?support?team?in?Jordan?(Finance,?PQMEAL,?Business Development, Communication, Partnership) and Program Managers, ensuring the alignment of the priorities of the VCP with the country strategy.
  • Support volunteers? management, consultants and researchers as needed, in accordance with Oxfam policy and procedures.
  • Support human resources management by providing induction on the VCP for new volunteers joining the country team.
  • Support the program leads to?facilitate linkages?between?the partners?as and when needed and ensure consistency?of collaboration.
  • Organize and?facilitate?workshops?with?partners?to?inform?them?about?the?Equality?in?Action programme,??including??its??objectives,??indicators,??administrative??and??financial??policies, and procedures and support them along the way.
  • Provide support, inspiration and guidance to partners involved in the program. Support partners with the development of projects to be funded by the programme.
  • Work in close?collaboration?with?other?teams?to?ensure?practical?and?effective?integration?and coordination between teams and activities.
  • Collaborate with the Business Development Manager in the development of any relevant fundable concepts aligned with project objectives, particularly gender components.
  • Share and embody Oxfam?s commitment to a zero-tolerance policy for any behaviour that violates the code of conduct, including sexual harassment, exploitation and abuse, intimidation, lack of integrity, corruption and fraud.
  • Participate in development efforts in Canada during and after the mandate by contributing to the dissemination of the program, projects, partners, etc. through testimonials, life stories, photos, quotes, etc.
