Technical advisor- Water and Environment

Job Description

The ?Towards Carbon Neutral Water and Wastewater utilities? (WaCCliM) in Jordan is seeking for a ?Technical Advisor ? Water and Environment? - on a full time base employment.??Responsibilities The position holder will be responsible for:

• Assisting the project manager and/or other experts in successful planning and implementation of projects.
• Implementing projects activities in close co-ordination with the team and the project manager.
• Following up and evaluating assigned projects in relation to evaluating environmental resources performance indicators and their impacts (utilizing data collected on inputs and outputs of various activities). Aspects include but not limited to water efficiency, energy efficiency, carbon emissions, and reflections on local socio-economic aspects as needed.
• Maintaining an overall good flow of communication and information between all involved institutions.
• Carrying out specific tasks concerning the knowledge management in the project.
• Assisting the project manager and/or other experts in preparing projects documents, terms of reference and reviewing contractual documents and projects reports.
• Carrying out needed communication in coordination with the project manager with external bodies.
• Propose new relevant interventions in the field of eco-efficiency related to water and energy sector and utilization of sludge (biosolids).

?The position holder performs the following tasks:Tasks:1. Coordination and Monitoring

• Establishing and regularly updating work programs, co-ordinated with and approved by the project manager.
• Coordinating with the official counterpart representatives and project staff in the MWI? WAJ, and JVA where needed.
• Continuously reporting and coordinating with the project manager on status and details of projects implementation.
• Collecting of relevant information and disseminate experiences both on national and international level.
• Supporting the project manager in the cooperation work with donors and other international institutions including reporting in English/Arabic/ German language to relevant stakeholders as needed.
• Being in charge for the planning, coordination, and documentation of meetings, workshops, seminars and other activities and assisting for such activities.
• Supporting public relations activities, including the development of PR material, brochures, etc.

?2. Professional Expertise and knowledge managementThe position holder:

• Supports the project manager in planning and implementation.
• Follows up assigned projects in relation to evaluating the environmental resources performance indicators and their impacts (utilizing data collected on inputs and outputs of various activities).
• Introduces experiences gained in projects implementation in sector policy discussions (restructuring, economic efficiency, climate change, etc.).
• Writing reports and establishing databases, when needed.
• Communicating and up-dating projects relevant information and collecting information regarding all fields of relevance.
• Updates and maintains relevant statistics files for use in the final report.
• Technical evaluation and verification of data received by the counterparts.
• Organising and maintaining the documentation according to GIZ rules.
• Drafts short-term expert Terms of Reference in coordination with the project manager.
• Coaches short-term experts during their stay and monitors their performance.
• Assists the project manager and/or other experts in preparing projects documents, and reviewing contractual documents and projects reports.
• Collects and analyses relevant technical and financial data to assess the impacts of the projects.
