Job Description

To monitor the Field HSE inspections and compliance with OHSAS 18001 & ISO 14001 standards.

  • Notify the senior site staff to remedy unsafe activities or work conditions, and if they do not comply, prohibit the use of the facilities until compliance is confirmed.
  • Establish and direct an Incident Investigation Team when an incident occurs.
  • Ensure that all staff receives adequate Induction training & information with regard to Health & Safety aspects of their work prior to commencement of their duties.
  • Establish, maintain, distribute and up-date the HSE management documentation.
  • Administer non-conformities and corrective actions.
  • Attend weekly Safety walk / meeting with client and Subcontractor?s Safety Meetings.
  • conduct Safety Training Include Toolbox talks
  • Responsible for assisting the QHSE Manager in ensuring the facilities are in a safe condition and conducting the periodic fire drills and plan exercises
  • Ensures that an adequate and safe means of access and egress is maintained in his workplace
  • Manages accident / incident reporting system and records statistics for the project.
Conducts (with the help of the QHSE Manager) accident investigations and notes any failures to comply with standard procedures and
  • legislation and recommends measures to prevent recurrences.
  • Implements Hazard Identification through the use of the weekly reporting checklist Ensures high standards of housekeeping are maintained.
  • At all times conforms to verbal/written advice or instruction from the QHSE Manager.
  • Inspect all safety tools, appliances, equipment?s and ensure that they are adequately and properly maintained.
  • Makes sure Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is worn or used in a proper and safe manner
  • Carries out a daily Safety Observation round of the workplace and returns the completed report form to the Project Manager and QHSE Manager.
  • Report accidents immediately to the Project Manager and QHSE Manager and secures prompt first aid/medical attention for any injured employee. Preserves the scene of the accident and arranges for witness statements if necessary.
Ensures that any employee disregarding the established safety rules, regulations and procedures are reported to the Project Manager and QHSE Manager for further disciplinary action.
