IRC leads the way from harm to home.The Syria crisis is often described as the worst humanitarian catastrophe since the end of the Cold War. Inside Syria, 6.1 million people are internally displaced and 13.1 million are in need of humanitarian assistance, with three million in hard-to-reach areas. There are 5.4 million Syrian refugees in neighboring countries. This is no short-term humanitarian episode. The devastating human consequences to huge numbers of people will endure for decades. The destruction of relationships, communities, livelihoods, homes and infrastructure will take years to repair.Job Overview/Summary:As part of the Protection team, the Protection Information Management Officer (IMO) will report to the Information Management Specialist and will be based in Amman, Jordan. S/he will work closely with with the three protection streams of Protection and Rule of Law (PRoL), Child Protection (CP) and Women Protection and Empowerment (WPE) staff and support both Jordan- and Syria-based staff to ensure timely, effective and high quality of data analysis and dash-boarding of program activities. Through this role, the successful applicant will be heavily involved in the day-to-day administrative work and tooling for the Protection field staff, providing a unique opportunity to learn about different protection streams/technologies and the IRC?s programming. In addition to this, the role is also responsible for follow-up and maintenance of existing and new data collection/storage and workflow tools using ONA/ODK, CommCare, Excel, and MSSQL Server.Major Responsibilities:The main responsibilities of the IMO will be directly related to all Protection?s activities. That being said, the most common tasks will fall under the following categories- Support existing and new data collection tools and activities- Support in the temporary upkeep of existing Excel and ONA tools being used until new tools are developed.- Communicate new tool releases to the field staff and collect feedback in coordination with Syria-based managers- Ensure that new and existing tools are being used in compliance with our analysis requirements- Ensure data-collection capacity-building through development of training material and provision of trainings in both remote and in-country settings- Support the Protection teams in the management and analysis of programmatic data and achievement- Responsible for pulling submissions from various data sources (ONA, Box, Etc.) and maintaining central databases of all programmatic data.?In some cases, extraction of valuable data points from narratives is required.-Perform various validations and data quality checks before analysis?Maintain trackers of operational achievement for protection?s activities (Excel/SQL)- Analyze program data in order to produce comprehensive indicators for review by managers.- Format incoming data into required formats for our regular reporting and dashboards.- Support in the creation of and providing ad-hoc tables and analytical graphs to meet program needs in consultation with the IM Specialist- Conduct periodic analysis of program data and noting trends, abnormalities, and matters of concern .- Ensure that any data that is shared complies with data protection protocols (need to see basis)- Assist in regular reporting for donors and internal purposes-Assist the Senior Monitoring and Reporting Officer in regular donor reporting inputs and maintenance of our submissions database for future reference.-Submit report contributions in a timely and orderly fashion?Key Working Relationships:Position Directly Reports to: Information Management SpecialistIndirect Reporting: Senior Monitoring and Reporting OfficerPosition Directly Supervises: N/AKey Internal Contacts: Information Management Specialist; Protection Coordinators/ManagersField Managers, Field staff.Other External Contacts:N/A
