Job Description

The ?Rule of Law Project? in Jordan is seeking a ?Project Facilitator? - on a full time base employment.Responsibilities:The position holder will be responsible for:

  • Providing support to the Team Leader (Key Expert: Component 2) and Project Manager in project implementation;
  • Coordinating project activities and logistical planning of project events (workshops, trainings, seminars, study tours)
  • Carrying out specific tasks in connection with knowledge management and monitoring & evaluation for the project (incl. collecting required information, documents, reports etc.)
  • Drafting minutes of meetings, protocols, workshop reports etc., if required
  • Arrange travel arrangements for consultants, Non-Key Experts, GIZ colleagues coming from abroad, and others.
TasksTechnical SupportThe position holder:
  • ?Conceptualises, prepares and implements sub-component 2.3.5 (Institutional support for Directorate of Alternative Sanctions (MoJ) & Development of actionable Programmes as alternatives to imprisonment) under the supervision of the Team Leader and in close cooperation with MoJ
  • Collects data and preparing report on legislative possibilities regarding community sanctions in Jordan
  • Conducting interviews to collect data to develop a program on types of community sanctions eligible for the Jordanian context
  • Participates in meetings with the Team Leader, MoJ, PSD, EUD and all other stakeholders relevant for the project implementation
  • Collects and compiles a pool of Rule of Law experts
  • Ensures compliance with EU visibility guidelines
Coordination and monitoring:The position holder:
  • Puts together an overview of project activities, deadlines etc. and presents it regularly at team meetings
  • Supports project monitoring and updates information on project progress, documents and reports regularly on the status of results
  • Monitors the documentation of reports and time sheets according to GIZ system and EU regulations
  • Handling the web-based M&E system for the Rule of Law Project in Jordan.
Knowledge managementThe position holder:
  • Assists in drawing up reports to the EU and translations
  • Establishes a project database and Results Based Monitoring (RBM) system
  • Assists in communicating, updating and collecting information on materials needed for invoicing (incl. handling the use of Incidental Expenditure)
Handling contract of consultantsThe position holder:
  • Finalizes TORs in cooperation with the Team Leader
  • Handles the tendering process and preparation of contracts with the office or HQ
  • Follows up on the missions of the consultants and their deliverables
  • Organizes the quality check of reports with the Team Leader and sign the ?materially correct?
  • Prepare amendments when needed, follows up on invoices and prepares certification of performance
  • Prepare contracts of National consultants in agreement with the office in Amman.
Other Duties/Additional TasksThe position holder:
  • Performs other relevant tasks upon the request of direct superior that are not explicitly cited in the job description
  • Regularly checks the changes in GIZ Orientation and Regulations Tool (O+R) in relation to field of work
  • Represents the interest of the GIZ-assisted measure and always acts on its behalf.
General obligationsThe position holder:
  • Is familiar with GIZ and EU planning, implementation and reporting procedures and their changes.
