Job Description

Position:Project coordinator (Jordan nationals only)Location:Durrat Almanal for Development and training office in Amman, based in Amman with regular travel in country (Southern Jordan valley and East Amman)Reports to:Team leader and program?s consultantPurpose: Durrat Almanal is seeking an experienced Project coordinator with demonstrated knowledge and experience in coordinating Social Entrepreneurship, community led economic and livelihood projects for vulnerable young people. The Project coordinator is expected to provide leadership and integral coordination skills to his/her program team and partners.Background:Durrat Almanal for Development and Training is contracted by Plan Internationalandfunded by BMZ to implement a 30 months? project to Strengthen social Enterprise Initiatives to combat poverty and exclusion in Jordan The action is designed with a strong focus on strengthening existing Social Enterprises and Social Entrepreneurial Initiatives as well as social entrepreneurship support structures. Growth and acceleration of existing high potential SEs and SEIs is a precondition to contribute to tangible socio-economic improvements for the most marginalised groups, most notably formal job creation, social innovation and social impact and for strengthening the national SE ecosystem in the long run.The project is implemented by an international and national consortium.The Organisation: DMDT was established as a Not for Profit Company on November 2016, and registered at the Ministry of Industry and Trade. DMDT has been on the forefront of various successful empowerment and entrepreneurprojects and activities in a business environment that focuses on creating sustainability for its projects.The support of donors and participants (business service providers, government entities, UN agencies, NGOs and INGOs, universities and international partners) has provided DMDT the impetus to continue its mission of delivering effective development and humanitarian programming, empowering and developing capacities of individuals, organizations and communities; striving to facilitate economic growth and to overcome development challenges, enhancing entrepreneurship and innovation skills to create a better life for the youth, women, and men.The Project coordinator will be based in Amman with frequent travel to project locations inside Jordan; He/ She will lead and support the project implementation, assure the quality of programming and ensure adequate coordination of the DMDT implementation team as well as coordination and planning with all project?s stakeholders. The project coordinator will be responsible for:Coordination and Communication:Coordination, involving all partners in the consortium to ensure adequate implementation of the project activitiesCoordinates with field team to ensure implementation of standardized and quality activities.Coordinates with other departments (program and support) as necessaryRepresents DMDT, in platforms and meetings held at community and national level.Develops a network to facilitate the project acceptance, community contribution and ownershipProvides compiled reports to the team leader, including relevant context updates and analysesMaintains positive and productive relationships with partners and support to complete their responsibilities in compliance with donor rules and regulationsWorks closely with other departments to elaborate and harmonize tools, SOP, guidelines and conceptual frameworks to guide the implementation of the project action plan.Undertake all other duties that may be determined by the line manager and that are compatible with the job.Project Implementation:Supports overseeing and monitoring the DMDT activities within the Social Enterprise project, in accordance with the objectives, activities and targets outlined within the proposal and in line with project?s budget.Forecasts and follows up on expenditures related to the project and participates in budget revision exercises.Provides field support to the team in both Jordan valley and East Amman. Visits the sites at least 3 times a week within the program?s life of 3 years.Supports the mapping and implementation of the project activities in coordination with the consortium partners.Submits periodic internal project activity updates (activity and budget follow up)

  • Identifies logistic and administrative support needs related to the project and communicates these to the team leader and relevant logistics/administrative support person.
  • Supports the work planning process with partners and coordinates between partners to ensure complementarity of activities and sequencing among activities and between projects
  • Regularly revises the work plan ensuring proper sequencing of activities and timelines match donor and other project commitments
  • Develops and manages an indicator tracking tool for the project
  • Supports the synergies of DMDT program?s activities with the partners, ensuring that the activities are organized and managed optimally while at the same time operated in compliance with donor requirements and relevant guidelines
Technical capacity building
  • Collaborates with the team leader and with technical team, and supports in implementing the project activities objectives for improved support to beneficiaries and contributes actively in its monitoring, evaluation and revision.
  • Ensures quality technical inputs into the design and delivery of the program activities including field implementation
