Job Description

JOB PURPOSETo provide support to policy and programme activities that effectively meet food assistance needs.KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive)1.???Conceptualize and design EPR/DRR integrated technical assistance packages in close collaboration with the requesting institution/government body and relevant partners and articulate the WFP value proposition.??2.???Establish and nurture partnerships with relevant institutional stakeholders (National Center for Security and Crises Management, Department of Civil Defense, Department of Statistics, Ministry of Water and Irrigation, Specialized research centers, Universities?.), international stakeholders (UNDP, bilateral development agencies ?) and national organizations (Royal Scientific Society ?).?3.???Strengthen the connection between WFP?s EPR/DRR technical assistance and other organizations? projects and initiatives to optimize convergence, concentration, coverage and capacities and ultimately maximize the impact of our interventions.4.???Lead on the implementation of the EPR/DRR technical assistance packages to government partners (technical guidance and training, partnership management, project management?).5.???Lead on the evidence generation agenda, in close collaboration with the VAM-M&E unit, in order to measure the institutional benefits of WFP?s EPR/DRR capacity strengthening interventions.6.???Strengthen the connection between WFP?s EPR/DRR capacity strengthening interventions with other WFP activities and institutional capacity building initiatives, including vulnerability assessment and mapping (VAM), emergency assistance, social protection and resilience building/livelihood support.7.???Actively participate and contribute to national inter-agency processes and working groups/platforms related to EPR, DRR and climate change to ensure collaboration and alignment among agencies.8.???Provide technical and management support to both internal WFP and inter-agency contingency planning and simulation exercises at the national level.?9.???Coordinate and facilitate the implementation of WFP Emergency Preparedness and Response Package, Contingency plan, Business Continuity Plan etc at a country and area office levels, including supporting a) the identification and implementation of mandatory minimum Preparedness Action; b) the identification and implementation of relevant emergency preparedness actions and c) updating the risk registry and business continuity plans.10.???Prepare evidence-based and story-telling reports and communication materials, conduct briefings on initiatives and projects, and organize after-action reviews and document lessons learnt and best practices in EPR/DRR programming.11.???Perform other related duties as required.4Ps CORE ORGANISATIONAL CAPABILITIESPurpose
