ACCOUNTABILITIES- Support the WFP country office to ensure that programmes are based on context and riskanalysis that consider the needs, capacities, vulnerabilities and other important characteristicssuch as age, gender, and (dis)ability, of affected populations receiving assistance. This will be?done by conducting protection analysis for each WFP?s programme, formulating a protection andAAP strategy, and working with programme staff to integrate protection throughout theprogramme management cycle (design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation).- Provide technical assistance to the chair of the country office?s protection and AAP workinggroup by ensuring regular meetings are held, meetings are well prepared and follow up actionsare taken as required.- Provide technical guidance and advice on protection to all staff in WFP country office and suboffices,including recommending and supporting practical solutions and adjustments forimproving protection aspects of WFP activities, analysing and anticipating potential protectionrisks related to targeting or transfer modality, and developing or contributing to country officestandard operating procedures and protection and AAP tools.- Build the knowledge on and commitment to protection, AAP and do-no-harm principles throughdesigning and conducting different types of protection related trainings and sensitisation forWFP staff, (I)NGOs and other partners, and beneficiaries.- Contribute to collection and analysis of data collected by programme, monitoring andevaluation (M&E), and vulnerability analysis and mapping (VAM) colleagues from a protectionperspective, particularly including links to food and cash assistance.- In collaboration with the relevant country office units, provide advice, guidance and follow-up inrelation to any protection problems related to the safe delivery of food, cash and vouchers tobeneficiaries during implementation.- Ensure protection issues raised from the hotline, field or programme activities are adequatelydocumented, reported and handled in a timely manner.- Oversee the country office?s complaint and feedback mechanisms, including the hotline, andstrengthen oversight of these mechanisms to ensure greater accountability.- Ensure the implementation of recommendations from internal and external audit, evaluationsand reviews related to Protection and AAP.- Collaborate closely with the country office?s gender focal point regarding issues related togender and protection- Assist in mainstreaming and implementation of disability guidelines and referral mechanismsfor persons with special needs/disabilities.- Contribute to programme reports for donors and others, as required.??OTHER SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIESCollaboration:? Ensure WFP representation in relevant Protection forums, inter-agency meetings at(Amman level, camp level, host community level), as well as referral meetings.? Collaborate with national and international organisations on protection related issues inorder to further the country office?s protection streamlining.Team management:? Refine and manage the unit strategy, workplan and systems in line with the CountryOffice?s Country Strategic Plan.? Provide direct supervision to the national protection officer and head of the hotline.? Support team members and review the quality of work amongst team members to ensureexpected deliverables are meet in a timely manner.? Manage unit staff members, provide coaching and guidance as required to ensureappropriate development and enable high performance.? Support unit colleagues to further develop and refine their protection and AAP capacities.Conduct targeted trainings for staff, upon need.? Ensure regular trainings of national and partner staff are administered to increase thequality of work and encourage accountability for demonstrating results.? Any other tasks as requested.
