KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive)Within delegated authority, the Programme Policy Officer will be responsible for the following duties:Translate the Jordan CSP into a strategy for strengthening and expanding livelihoods activities to assist the transition towards resilience activities. Strategic outputs focus on asset creation linked to climate change adaptation/mitigation and disaster risk reduction; training and small business promotion in urban settings, and support to small holder farmers.Develop innovative approaches and the needed partnerships to livelihoods enhancement for vulnerable people living in Jordan, with particular reference to youth, women, environment and urban settingsProvide project management to the livelihood programmes and projects, ensuring a coordinated approach within the country office and with wider programmes that complies with WFP standards and proceduresFacilitate the development of partnerships at country level; including with other UN agencies, NGOs, government, specialized institutions, private sector, donors and other actors in the field of livelihoods.Provide technical expertise, coordinate, supervise and assure the quality of the work of Cooperating Partners and staff of the livelihoods unitDevelop technical guidance and operational manuals/materials to guide the implementation of various livelihood projectsProvide capacity development to WFP staff, partners and national government in the field of livelihoods, e.g. through knowledge exchange, dedicated training sessions and joint management of activities.Strengthen the connectedness of livelihoods interventions with other activities and institutional capacity building initiatives, including social safety-nets, cash-based transfers, climate change, disaster risk reduction, EPR, nutrition, school feeding, and VAMActively work on integrating youth, gender and social inclusion strategies to promote gender equality and social and youth inclusion for sustainable livelihoods programmingActively contribute to national inter-agency processes and working groups related to livelihoods to ensure collaboration and alignment among agenciesContribute to the development and implementation of the M&E framework for livelihood activities in collaboration with the M&E unitPrepare accurate and reliable operational reports, communication materials and conduct briefings on-going initiatives and projects, as well as document lessons learnt and best practices in livelihoods programmingPerform other related duties as required.
