Number: 150884 Citizenships Jordan Residence Country Jordan Years of Experience 2 - 16Industry Export and Trade Services Advisor and RequirementsJob Title:Industry Export and Trade Services AdvisorProgram:Jordan Economic Reform Activity Task Order 1Start Date of Position:TBDReporting to:Export Promotion AdvisorBACKGROUNDThe Jordan Economic Reform Activity Task Order 1 (ERA TO1) is a 5-year, $54 million program funded by USAID, which aims to support the Government of Jordan (GOJ) to prioritize and implement economic reforms. Through coordination with the GOJ, the Jordanian and international private sector, other donors, and Jordanian civil society, ERA TO 1 will (1) advance economic reforms, (2) strengthen the business enabling environment, (3) increase exports and local, regional, and international investments, and (4) respond to emerging priorities.POSITION DESCRIPTIONThe Export and Trade Services Advisor will support ERA TO1?s objective to enhance export competitiveness and promotion in Jordan, with an ultimate goal to advance Jordanian exports into untapped, high-growth markets, by providing technical assistance to key public and private sector actors on trade facilitation and improving Jordan?s participation in key export markets.DETAILED RESPONSIBILITIES* Identify, develop and support implementation of export readiness, export diagnostic and export growth tools for utilization by Jordan Export (JE) and its partners.* Help JE to identify a roster of export-ready businesses and anchor firms, to pilot these tools* Identify existing bottlenecks and opportunities in trade facilitation conditions in Jordan and between Jordan select high-impact export markets.* Help to design and pilot new initiatives to address these bottlenecks and opportunities in trade facilitation.* Promote the increased utilization of trade support mechanisms like the U.S. and other FTAs.* Address, among other items, incentive structures, export transaction costs, export-trade financing measures and trade services.* Support businesses to develop export growth plans, assess market selection, entry strategies, grants and assistance information and connect them with international opportunities.* Utilize findings to support development of a trade corridor action plan, in coordination with JE and other potential stakeholders* Manage and coordinate projects related to building network of trade promotion instututions and mdoality of working with JE.* Advocate for and support JE in becoming institutionally, technically and financially sustainable, including policy reforms, operational improvements, and infrastructure investments.* Implement the above listed roles and work with companies in manufacturing, food, chemicals, or industrial sectors.* Other tasks as assigned by the Chief of Party and the Export Promotion Advisor, that are consistent with this scope of work and the general requirements of the projectMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS* Bachelors degree in business, economics, marketing international trade, or another relevant field; advanced degree preferred* Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in international trade, export business, business development and/or marketing.* Proven experience in manufacturing, food, chemicals, or industrial sectors.* Demonstrated knowledge and familiarity with Jordan?s export and trade industry, in both the public and private sectors* Strong project management, communication and collaboration skills.* Results oriented and self motivated to create impact.* Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with culturally diverse staff * Strong Arabic and English communication skills (oral and written)LOCATION OF ASSIGNMENTThe Industry Export and Trade Services Advisor will be based in the project?s office in Amman, Jordan.
