Number: 152026Financial Systems and Insurance Advisor and Requirements TheInnovative approaches to financial inclusion for MSMEs in Jordan I-FINproject in Jordan is seeking aFinancial Systems and Insurance Advisor(Intervention area four: the institutional conditions for women-led MSMEs to access innovativefinancial services)on full-time base employment as per the below job profile.Qualifications and specialist knowledge* University degree in Gender studies, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, International Development, Political Science, or other relevant discipline* Proven in-depth knowledge and experience in private sector development including experience in supporting women led MSMEs or financial intermediaries, such as banks, MFIs, and Leasing companies about gender responsive MSME Finance* 7 years of professional experience in banking or the area of gender responsive financial sector development and international development cooperation. * Experience in working with women led MSMEs* Sector-specific knowledge of innovative MSME finance approaches and products is an asset* Experience providing guidance on the uptake of digital financial products and approaches is an asset* Experience with and knowledge of business organizations and relevant governmental institutions, CBJ.* Experience in conceptualizing and delivering capacity-building interventions and designing and implementing workshops, seminars, or similar activities in financial services.* Experience in writing reports and documenting meetings (English and Arabic; German is a plus).* Advisory experience especially with Jordanian MSMEs as well as relevant non-bank financial sector institutions* Experience with preparation and implementation of financial and grant agreements as well as contracting and guiding consultants* Proactive and solution-oriented personality including the ability to identifying challenges and utilize opportunities to promote services provision for banks and/or NBFIs * Partner-orientation with ability to grasp, assess and respond to partner requirements and potentials for effective project implementation towards achieving project indicators.* Excellent analytical and conceptual skills.* Strong communication skills and ability to moderate / facilitate meetings and workshops including those conducted virtually (online).* Very good working knowledge of ICT technologies (related software, phone, email, browser software) and computer applications (incl. In consultation with your line manager, you also assume tasks related to planning, steering and monitoring the project, including project administration tasks in some cases. You are also responsible for providing specialist support to colleagues in bands 2 and 3, and ensure the quality of the commissions outcomes. In addition you contribute to the conceptual design of the project, in particular its modification or realignment. You make technical and substantive contributions to overarching issues in cooperation with commissioning parties/clients, partners and other actors and thereby support the achievement of the agreed objectives of the respective project and provide impetus for further strategy development. In coordination with the country director and your line manager, you also use your contacts for the acquisition of contracts on behalf of the company. In consultation with your team colleagues and line manager, you also coordinate all issues within your area of work and ensure that they are dealt with promptly and competently. You resolve problems that arise in your area of responsibility on the basis of existing rules and draw attention to more complex challenges in your team. In consultation with your line manager, under your role you may assume management responsibility for staff members in band 1, with due regard for P+R and GIZs applicable HR policies, instruments and procedures. You are involved in ongoing process development within your remit, are responsible for knowledge management and prepare and share documentation. If required, you also support other experts in familiarising themselves with and performing their tasks. You perform the tasks assigned to you by your line manager, where required.Main activitiesThe position holder works in I-FIN intervention area four: the institutional conditions for women-led MSMEs to access innovative financial services and is responsible for: * Managing activities aiming to improve the institutional conditions for women-led MSMEs access to innovative financial services * Providing professional advisory services to NBFIs and NBFI service providers in intervention area four on developing MSME Finance offerings for women led MSMEs* Ensuring proper monitoring and reporting of outcomes and MSME finance figures in intervention area four and supporting the development of information and communication products.* Developing and updating project management tools within the I-FIN project, including stakeholder maps and work plans.* Establishing synergies and ensuring good collaboration with the other three intervention areas within the project, as well as with relevant projects under the GIZ umbrella and those of other donors.* Contributing to innovation and knowledge management; maintaining a good flow of communication and information between all involved institutions, counterparts and GIZ.* Performing other relevant tasks and duties as requested by management.Brief about the projectThe new BMZ financed GIZ project Innovative approaches to the financial inclusion of MSMEs I-FIN in Jordan effectively started on 12/2021 and lasts till 7/2025. This project builds on GIZs successful partnership with the Central Bank of Jordan (CBJ) in the areas of financial inclusion digital financial services and remittances. I-FIN supports CBJ in improving the legal and regulatory framework as well as the supply and demand of innovative financial services for MSMEs in Jordan. The project will focus on innovative approaches to MSME finance that leverage digital financial services guarantee mechanisms and enhance MSMEs access to non-traditional credit such as leasing and factoring. The projects overall objective is to improve access to credit and innovative financial services for growth-oriented micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) in Jordan. Specific objectives of the four intervention areas are to (1) enhance the capacity of the Central Bank of Jordan to foster a conducive environment for innovative MSME financing; (2) strengthen financial intermediaries capacity to provide innovative financial services to MSMEs; (3) improve growth-oriented MSMEs capacities to access innovative financial services; (4) improve the institutional conditions for women-led MSMEs to access innovative financial services.
