Job Description

Org. Setting and ReportingSupervisor:The incumbent reports to the Chief Field Infrastructure & Camp Improvement Programme(CFICIP).Supervisees:Manages a range of Professional and GS staff.Responsibilities?Provides technical oversight and support to all construction projects ensuring reliability,accessibility, safety, operability, and fitness for purpose; coordinates all related works withother Divisions in the Field Infrastructure and Camp Improvement Department (FICIP) andother Departments; provides advice to CFICIP on relevant cross-cutting issues.?Manages and monitors progress of all construction projects ensuring quality planning andcontrol, including:1.Ensuring that Contractors implement the projects in compliance with the contractdocuments including contract conditions, period, budget, drawings, specifications, and Billsof Quantities.2.Preparing Project(s) risk management plans; ensures their appropriate observation duringthe project(s) implementation.3. Making sure that the contractor meets contractual requirements of safety, environment, andhealth.4. Ensuring the completeness of all project documentation including entering all constructionprojects details into Facilities Management Information System (FMIS);5.Preparing reports including weekly and monthly progress and ad-hoc reports required byexternal and internal stakeholders.?Holds regular site meetings with the Contractors to discuss the progress, check the quality ofimplemented works, resolves any outstanding technical issues/challenges including delays,extension of time, additional works, variation orders; ensures the quality of the suppliedmaterials to the site and approves the samples submitted by the Contractors.?Reviews and endorses the measurements for the projects under implementation, interim andfinal payments; assesses the variation orders and extension of time and providesrecommendations to CFICIP.?Participates with Field Maintenance Engineer in the evaluation and structural assessment ofthe existing buildings to assess the structural integrity, safety, fitness for purpose/use andprovides joint advice to CFICIP on reconstruction or maintenance.?Supervises the performance of construction division staff; is responsible for sustaining andelevating their capabilities; assesses their training and career development needs and providesthe necessary technical guidance and support and/or coordinates specialized training coursesto build their capacity and improve outcomes.?Facilitates visits by donor representatives and other external interlocutors to the Project(s)area in coordination with the supervisor and External Relations and CommunicationDepartment.?Performs other duties as may be assigned by the supervisorCompetencies?Deciding and Initiating Action.?Coping with Pressure and Setbacks.?Relating and Networking.?Leading and Supervising.?Proven record in the application of results-based management, including the creation ofenabling and collaborative work environment.EducationA university degree in civil engineering from an accredited university/ institution.General Information:?????? ????? ???? ?????? ?????????? ???? ???? ???? ??????? ??This vacancy notice is open to internal and external candidates.
