For more information, visit us at .POSITION DESCRIPTIONThe English Language Program Manager leads in oversight and management of the administrative, programmatic and technical operations of the local English language centers and their cultural program in close coordination with Amideast?s project team and implementing partners across four locations in Jordan, as well as with the donor entity. S/He leads communication, planning, quality management, and overall implementation of the program, coordinating closely with language program implementers in the development of annual English language courses and cultural and marketing activities. S/He will conduct field visits to the language centers in Jordan on a regular basis for support, quality assurance, and monitoring and evaluation. S/He will supervise the procurement process implemented by the Programs Officer.RESPONSIBILITIESMain Duties:* Oversee all aspects of the program, ensuring that Amideast and program objectives are met* Support partners in developing detailed and robust plans for language course schedules, marketing and social media plans, cultural activities and promoting administrative and financial capacity-building* Coordinate with implementing partners and donor stakeholders in recruitment, training and quality management of program teachers, trainers and facilitators* Provide technical and administrative guidance to program partners, staff and teachers, where relevant and applicable* Coordinate classroom monitoring, training and implementation of cultural curriculum with instructors* Oversee and coordinate quality assurance activities, including program and curricula reviews, assessment reviews, student achievement tracking, and timely reporting to the donor* Oversee development of up-to-date content for American cultural components, to include online materials and support to instructors, offering training where necessary* Collaborate closely with other Amideast departments, including regional experts, for support as needed* Prepare reports and annual plans, as required by donor* Demonstrate professional behavior at all times* Demonstrate flexibility and willingness to comply fully with Amideast requirements* Review program financial performance and adjust indicators as necessary in coordination with Finance and CD* Other tasks as requested by supervisor or that arise during the course of program implementationQUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLSRequired* Minimum of a bachelor?s degree in Education, English language, or a related field* Minimum of 9 years, 5 years of English language teaching experience, preferably in the MENA region and 4 years of supervisory/management position of relevant experience and coordinating English language programs and supervising and/or training teachers* Extensive knowledge of English language teaching methods, approaches, and materials* Strong understanding of financial management, budgeting, and donor reporting* Experience in curriculum development and assessment planning preferred* Extensive understanding of life and culture in the United States* Excellent written and oral communication skills* Extensive knowledge of current trends in ESL/EFL and ESP* Native or near-native fluency in English and Arabic* Knowledge of Jordanian society, including interests and needs of target communitiesUp to 50% business travel inside Jordan may be needed to support the Program as needed.The physical demands and work environment that have been described is representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this position.
