Job Description

Background:?Through the Jordan Country Program, the R&D lab has launched an innovative employment hub (Project Match) that aims to generate at scale employment opportunities for Jordanians and Syrian refugees in Jordan The IRC has been operational in Jordan since 2007 and today the IRC responds to refugees and Jordanians most urgent and sensitive needs, including health care, women?s protection and empowerment, child protection, and economic resiliency. Building off existing IRC Jordan livelihoods and protection programming, the employment hub (Project Match) will houses a series of new, data-driven, experimental interventions that seek to match-make Jordanians, refugees and firms and provide the necessary support to individuals in getting to work. Project Match is a two-year project out of which two core activities are run: i) a mobile network of entrepreneurial IRC service officers who will work with Jordanians, refugees, and firms to proactively facilitate matchmaking and help to address common access issues, and ii) a jobs collation platform that allows IRC officers, existing outreach staff and other stakeholders to algorithmically match jobs and job-seekers. A second important feature of the project is the research component which focuses on testing a set of search interventions namely, a job search planning intervention, an unconditional cash intervention, and an information intervention.?Job Overview:The Employment Service Senior Officer will oversee and implement in all outreach to firms with job openings in Jordan, cultivating relationships with these firms to help provide labor, and ensuring that firms are satisfied with the Project Match services. The ESSOs is responsible for working with firm HR and senior leadership to identify new employment opportunities and collect data on these jobs and the firm, help identify recruitment needs for firms, and work with firms to match them with potential employees. The ESSOs will work with Employment Service Officers-Labor focused on job seekers and Project Match leadership to deliver on matches and support other officers in their daily activities. The role is client-facing and will entail extensive communication and comfort in working with the private sector. It offers the ability to have a positive impact in improving the employment opportunities for many in Jordan.?Major Responsibilities:Firm Relationships, Intake, and Job Openings????? Build relationships and trust with firms in Jordan who have relevant jobs for refugees and Jordanians.????? Work with firm management to identify recruitment needs and collect information on all potential job openings.????? Works with other ESSOs and the Data analysis officer to ensure data is properly entered and uploaded with high quality so the jobs platform can generate matches.????? Complete intake and job opening forms by using a tablet-based case-management tool.????? Maintain thorough knowledge of labor market trends and issues facing employers and job seekers.????? Support the ESOs-Labor team in conducting job seeker intakes and follow ups when needed and depending on the workload.????? Build relationships and trust with communities and individuals seeking employment in Jordan.Case Management and Matching?????? Collaborate with ESOs-Labor to match job seekers in our database with the potential jobs openings.?????? Provide lists of suggested job seeker to firms and helps arrange interviews and fill job openings.????? Interfaces with ESOs who manage job seeker relationships to prioritize matches and set up interviews????? After job placements, works with firms to understand why certain placements were successful.????? Conduct regular check-ins with firms to get latest job postings and characteristics of ideal candidates.????? Meticulously track all changes to job openings data.????? Other duties as assigned by the supervisor to enable and develop IRC programs.????? Collaborate and coordinate with all the project staff members to achieve the targets Identify and share with the line manager any technical problems faced, potential risks and proposed solutions.?????
