The IRC leads the way from harm to home.?CONTEXTUAL BACKGROUNDSince 2007, IRC has worked with refugees and other vulnerable populations in Jordan.? IRC?s current programs in Jordan focus on urban interventions in the north that address gender-based violence specifically violence against women and girls for Syrian refugees and host community members as well as reproductive health care to Syrian refugees through two clinics based in Ramtha and Mafraq, and having mobile outreach health teams in both Mafraq & Irbid, and Economic Recovery & Development program. In 2013 IRC also started with Early Childhood Development programming addressing the needs of unaccompanied & separated children (UASC) and alternative care arrangements in Zatri and Azraq camps.In Mafraq, Irbid, Ramtha and Azraq Refugee Camp, the IRC is implementing a program to support caregivers of young children through a play-based home visiting intervention. High-quality ECD programs provide the foundation for children?s future academic success, health, prosperity and wellbeing. A large body of scientific evidence emphasizes the need for increased investment in early childhood, particularly for children experiencing conflict, crisis and displacement; these children are extremely vulnerable to the long-lasting effects that prolonged stress has on the developing brain. IRC reaches over a million children annually with education and child protection programs in 25 countries around the world.?Job Overview/Summary: The goal of this study is to measure the impact of the TV show Ahlan Simsim presented in KG classrooms for a randomized controlled trial in Amman implemented by the IRC.?This program aims to collaborate with caregivers and teachers to effectively interact with children in order to foster cognitive and socioemotional development. The measures will include assessment for the children, collecting surveys from teachers and caregivers. Supervising the display of the show over a period of many weeks on a daily basis, in addition to other measures.?Major Responsibilities:The Data Collectors / Enumerators will be engaged in training and data collection activities:ResponsibilitiesDeliverables? Attend training: this will be an Arabic language training provided by IRC staff in coordination with researchers from New York University. Training will cover the objectives of the study, review of measures and data collection procedures, research ethics compliance, and IRC policy. Training will likely be in the first week of September, so applicants should be available at this time.-? Attend training and pass in assessment.?Conduct data collection: after training, the study will include approximately 16 weeks of data collection, covering 80 KG classrooms in Amman governorate assigned by the research team. Tasks will include: scheduling visits, ensuring the display of the content in an effective way, and collecting observational data and applying data collection tools with children, caregivers, and teachers, coordinating with teachers on timely submission of reports.- Complete and submit the collected data from assigned KG classrooms.? Weekly data collection plans: Each week, provide team supervisor with a data collection plan.-? Deliver 16 weekly plans.?? Daily field reports to supervisors during data collection? For supervisors: Deliver daily and weekly supervision forms. Coordinate in the field.- Deliver daily field work reports.?Other responsibilities will include:?? Ensure high quality data collection for research purposes.?Follow ethical procedures required for this study, including those for respondent privacy, data security and child safeguarding.? Review and clean collected data.? Keep data well organized for all observation and monitoring activities.? Capture the challenges and learning opportunities to feed in the improvement of the overall research process.?Receiving, recording, classifying and routing complaints for attention.? Supporting in other data collection and evaluation tasks requested by the research manager.? Adhere to IRC way standards in all work.?
