ROLE PURPOSE:The ECD Advisor will provide strategic direction and technical advice for the Early Childhood Development intervnetions team. S/he will be responsible for finalizing the strategy and developing programs to align with ECD Global initiatives as well as strategy that exist in country.KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:As a member of the Senior Management Team, contribute to:Technical Expertise?? Advise on the technical design of ECD interventions for programming.?? Provide technical oversight and backstopping of the early education activities to ensure successful program implementation.?? Improve program quality by leading development, review and cataloguing of standardized technical tools, manuals, guidelines, trainings, regulations and protocols.?? pntribute to Save the Childrens overall program strategy.Capacity Building & Organizational Learning?? Collaborate effectively with key colleagues to mobilise relevant sections of Save the Children to support strategic fundraising and secure financial support for the relevant networkRepresentation Advocacy & NetworkingEnsure that Save the Childrens work is coordinated with efforts of other agencies and Government, and take a leadership role within Interagency Coordination forums, ensuring the? specific needs of Early childhood is being addressed. This may involve taking the lead on Sub-Working Group and/or task forces.?? Ensure lessons learned and good practices are documented and communicated to shape in-country strategies and program approaches, and contribute to broader sector learning.?? Represent SC in relevant international Save the Children working groups and on other relevant networksMonitoring & Evaluation?? Work closely with the Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning? (MEAL) team put in place a monitoring plan, ensuring this links to reporting requirements, capacity build and educate field staff in carrying out the work.?? Work closely with the MEAL team to put in place accountability activities to? ensure that feedback from all partners/ relevant stakeholders, is considered in program design.?? Undertake regular visits to the field to monitor program implementation, with written and verbal feedback provided during and after each visit.?? Respond and/or integrate feedback into programming received through the accountability mechanism.?? Support program assessments, evaluations and other reviews required in the program.??? Provide MEAL technical assistance in the delivery of funded programmes?? Contribute to building evidence and disseminating this among key audiencesGeneral??
