Job Description

Job PurposeDriver is responsible of transporting staff, goods, and supplies between ACTED offices and Guest houses according to ACTED logistics procedures.ObjectivesThe Driver will provide safe transportation services for ACTED Regional Office in Amman. The Driver will adhere to all traffic and ACTED Safety rules and follow the transport guidelines required by the Fleet assistant and the Senior Logistics Officer, including making sure the vehicles are in good condition all the time.Duties and Responsibilities

  • Read and has clear understanding of ACTED Fleet Management Policy and Procedures Guideline
  • Operate ACTED Vehicles and or rental vehicles as assigned by the Fleet Assistant and the Senior Logistics Officer
  • Maintain vehicle log-sheets in accordance with ACTED policies and procedures
  • Check the vehicle conditions after each trip/routinely ? report needs and problem to supervisor
  • Responsible for safekeeping of all vehicle equipment?s, tools first aid kits, spare, etc
  • Keep the vehicle clean and ready for use at all the times
  • Cooperate and be of assistance to staff and visitors with professionalism interaction
  • Coordinate with all staff members the daily transport schedule for programs, operations, management, visitors, events, etc;
  • Ensure adequate supply of fuel to ACTED vehicles
  • Adherence to all ACTED policies and procedures manuals
  • Conduct himself/herself both professionally and personally in such a manner as to bring credit to ACTED and to not jeopardize its humanitarian mission.
????????Recognize all traffic laws, and respect road priorities
  • Drive defensively to ensure safety
  • Respect arrival and departure time, taking in consideration of all circumstances (weather conditions, traffic, complex areas?etc)
  • Use navigation applications to save time and efforts, while heading to the destination
  • Keep millage records and repair records up to date and reflect them at the log sheet?
  • A weekly checklist report to be submitted to the fleet assistant
  • ?Logbook data entry, ensuring that all passegers are filling the data properly with their signature.
  • Check the trip board and the assiments for the day and make sure that they don?t overlap or they don?t have enough forcasted period of travel
  • Keep all fuel invoices and records until the hand over to be done to the fleet assistant
  • Other duties as assigned?
Key Performance Indicators
  • Conscientious with as excellent sense of judgment
  • Successfully passing ACTED driving test
  • Very good knowledge of Amman locations, especially INGO/UN as well as Ministries;
  • Ability to work beyond working hours, as needed, in order to pick up/drop off ACTED staff from/to airport at any time day or night
  • Ability to work simultaneously on multiple tasks.
  • Willingness and ability to work effectively with a wide variety of people.
  • ??Ability to work as part of a team and coordinate with project personnel.
