Core & Transport Planning Manager

Job Description

Job Brief: Responsible for designing, planning and optimizing IP Core, and Transport Network, to ensure providing the required robust, flexible and optimal interconnectivity among Umniah network components. Also, responsible for achieving and improving the services KPIs and SLAs using the latest technologies, as well as provide the needed technical support and solutions to ensure customer satisfaction and meet the business requirements.Key Responsibilities:

• Manage the IP Core and Transport planning teams to ensure maintaining optimal transport solutions across network entities.
• Design, plan and setup/expand new/existing network including ensuring that design conforms to SLA and ease of operation and maintenance.
• Design, plan, implement and configure various network element including Core, IP and Transport elements.
• Manage network capacity to ensure that the network meets marketing needs for Umniah customers and to maintain network performance up to the required standards within the available resources.
• Manage the lifecycle of the network and refresh equipment at appropriate times to prevent network failure and risks
• Upgrade and enhance the network performance monitoring and network management systems
• Evaluate new products and technologies for new services rollout.
• Keep abreast of new technologies and networking gear to improve the network and services offered to customers
• Work with Operations team on the commissioning of network.
• Review the existing work procedures regularly within the area of responsibility to enhance the productivity level
• Review Network KPIs and Network design to ensure it supports improving the KPIs and Quality.
• Set standards and guidelines for transport network expansions and coordinate closely with operations and field teams during projects deployment
• Build the annual budget requirements and resources for the network and ensure smart spending in alignment with the Engineering and company targets

• Manage subordinates? learning & development requirements and ensure that it is successfully delivered and provide related feedback to the management
• Assign roles and work load distribution, set team objectives and conduct regular informal one-on-one meetings to deliver personalized feedback and provide support to attain goals
• Conduct formal performance evaluation process for the subordinates in order to optimize workplace productivity
• Participate in the recruitment, selection, evaluation process of new employees.
• Provide guidance and delegate responsibilities to subordinates to facilitate performing different tasks to support succession planning process
• Manage subordinates administrational requirements
• Assure that all subordinates are following Umniah?s policies and procedures and highlight any violation for the code of conduct
• Manage economic, efficient and effective budget plan and control in alignment with the department and Umniah?s strategy
• Ensure that employees are engaged and motivated through creating a respectful and trusting relationship with them and communicating Umniah values
• Demonstrate flexibility in management by accommodating individual employee needs such as adjustable schedules or remote work options
