Medair operates in the areas of health, social protection and MHPSS programming and adopts a One Refugee approach, targeting both Syrian and non-Syrian refugees as well as vulnerable Jordanians residing in Amman, Mafraq, Irbid and Zarqa.Workplace& ConditionsField based position in Amman, Jordan with frequent travel to other governorates.Starting Date / Initial Contract DetailsAs soon as possible. Full time, 6 months (negotiable).Key Activity AreasMarketing & Relationships and Affiliate Resources* Travel frequently to field sites to gather communications content/resources for programmes and projects.* Support the Programme Funding Manager (PFM) and Regional Communications Manager (RCM) by gathering and adapting materials for donors, affiliate offices, and the engagement team (photos, testimonies, facts, stories, quotes, reports, etc.).* Support PFM in coordinating swift approvals at the field level for marketing and relationships material before publication.* Help to prepare, facilitate and accompany field visits for photographers, journalists, or media crews.Digital Social Media & Public Relations* Assist the PFM and RCM to identify media opportunities, produce press releases, and brief staff ahead of interviews.* Support facilitation/production of content for Medair?s website, Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin, and Instagram.* Capture and edit photos/videos for content creation and donor visibility.Field Visibility and Reporting* Assist the PFM in procuring donor field visibility items that meet Medair and donor guidelines.* Assist the PFM in managing records for tracking stories, published materials, and visibility items for donor for reporting.Other Duties* Support the PFM with administrative tasks, including but not limited to completing purchase requests for visibility and uploading and filing consent forms and photos.* Assist the PFM with donor reporting as needed.Qualifications* Recent graduate or student pursuing university degree in relevant studies.* Arabic and English speaking (both spoken and written).Experience / Competencies* Highly organised with a creative flair and good attention to detail.* Strong photography skills for photographing beneficiaries and staff working in the field.* Excellent writing skills with the ability to target specific audiences.* Motivated to gain experience in media/ communications in the humanitarian sector.* Able to develop and maintain effective relationships with colleagues, beneficiaries and local authorities.* Ability to relate well with and to establish trust with diverse populations.* Good communicator and good listener, able to pass on information efficiently.* Strong character traits, including emotional stability, adaptability, ability to handle stress, willingness to travel to the field frequently, and cultural and gender sensitivity.
