Job Description

The IRC began working in Jordan in 2007, providing assistance to refugees from Iraq. With the onset of the Syrian civil war in 2012, the IRC scaled operations to meet mounting needs in both camp and non-camp settings. Today, the IRC delivers emergency and long-term services ? including integrated health and protection, economic support, and education ? to refugees and vulnerable host communities across Amman, Irbid, and Mafraq, and Zarqa governorates. Prioritizing sustainability and long-term impact, the IRC engages civil society organizations (CSOs), government, and other key stakeholders in partnerships and capacity strengthening.?Objective:The IRC seeks a Chief of Party (COP) for the anticipated five-year, multi-million dollar USAID Survivor?s Access to Protection from Domestic Violence Activity (SAPDVA). The project will aim to advance women?s rights, enhance access to quality protection services, and expand social services to women who are at-risk of and/or victims of domestic abuse. This will be achieved by: 1) enhancing screening, reporting, protection, and litigation services provided by national stakeholders; 2) supporting the availability and quality of services provided by national stakeholders; and 3) supporting systemic improvement in policy implementation and multi-stakeholder coordination to advance the protection framework.?The COP will be responsible for ensuring the proposed project is implemented in accordance with the terms of the USAID award (awarding mechanism to be determined), USAID regulations, principles of IRC, and internationally recognized quality of assistance standards. The COP will be the primary representational link with USAID staff. The position will be based in Amman, Jordan.Recruitment is contingent upon the successful award of the project, and the selection of the final applicant is subject to USAID approval.Job Responsibilities:???Responsible for the overall leadership, planning, implementation, administration, and financial management of the project, as well as the achievement of all impact goals and objectives.??Oversee the development, review, and monitoring of yearly work plans, project strategy documents, implementation measures, knowledge management, and sustainability efforts to ensure long- and short-term impact goals are achieved.??Manage project staff and consortium partners to ensure proper implementation, reporting, financial management, and compliance.??Report to USAID through formal and informal debriefings, annual and semi-annual reports, etc.??Serve as the primary liaison with USAID, the Government of Jordan (GOJ), and other relevant stakeholders to ensure activities complement ongoing initiatives, adhere to country and global standards, and represent best practices in the prevention of violence against women and girls (VAWG).???Represent the project and organization in regional, national, and international fora, including technical conferences and policy briefings, and share information about project achievements and lessons learned within the organization and wider development community.
